Role SummaryAs a Senior Manager, Global Supply Management, you will lead a high-performing procurement team responsible for the end-to-end strategic sourcing of Rivian's Charging and Adventure Products. You will blend people leadership with commercial execution-driving global supplier strategies, negotiating high-stakes contracts, and partnering with Engineering to meet aggressive vehicle cost, quality, and production milestones. This position is based onsite in Irvine, California and reports to the Director of Global Supply Management, Propulsion, Thermal, Charging and Adventure Products.
Responsibilities- Team Leadership & Mentorship: Build, manage, and develop a high-performing team of procurement professionals, setting clear performance goals and aligning resources with corporate milestones.
- Strategic Sourcing & Roadmap Execution: Oversee the end-to-end RFI/RFQ/RFP process and develop long-term, global sourcing strategies for Rivians charging nextwork, onboard vehicle energy management and distributiuon systems and Rivians Adventure Products and Accessories.
- High-Stakes Commercial Negotiations: Lead complex negotiations for high-value contracts, Production Supply Agreements, and raw material index tooling to secure best-in-class commercial terms.
- Cost & Budget Management: Own the powertrain vehicle budget in collaboration with Finance, driving aggressive cost-reduction initiatives to achieve vehicle margin targets.
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Partner closely with Engineering, Program Management, and Supplier Quality to ensure design-for-manufacturability, meet vehicle build milestones, and maintain strict quality standards.
Qualifications- Education: Bachelor's degree (in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field) or equivalent practical experience is required; a Master's degree (MBA or MS) is preferred.
- Experience: 10+ years of purchasing, procurement, or commodity management experience within the automotive powertrain, electrical, or heavy industrial electrical manufacturing industry, ideally within a Charging Network
- People Leadership: 3+ years of dedicated experience directly managing and leading a team of purchasing professionals in a fast-paced environment.
- Technical Knowledge: Working knowledge of High Voltage electronics, understanding of regulatory requirements for procurement of components for a charging network, and an understanding of vehicle power electronics and inverters. Ideally the right candidate will have commercial knowledge of brand partnerships and experience bringing exciting brand collaborations to market.

- Negotiation Skills: Proven track record of leading high-stakes commercial negotiations for high-value components
- Leadership & Influence: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to mentor staff, build cross-functional alignment, and influence executive-level stakeholders.
- Strategic Vision: Ability to translate high-level corporate goals into actionable commodity strategies for the team.
- Analytics & Integrity: Strong analytical, data-driven problem-solving skills for complex quote leveling and financial forecasting, maintained at the highest level of professional integrity.
- Adaptability: Ability to thrive as a leader in a rapidly evolving environment, multi-tasking effectively while maintaining strict attention to detail.
- Industry Bonus: Experience working directly with Tier 1 automotive powertrain suppliers or electric vehicle (EV) propulsion technology is highly desirable
- Travel Requirements: Ability and willingness to travel as needed based on business needs, expected to average between 20-40% .
Pay DisclosureThe salary range for this role is $176,200 - $220,300 for Irvine, California based applicants. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, and organizational needs.
The successful candidate may be eligible for annual performance bonus and equity awards.
