Role Overview:

The Senior Manager, Facility Security Officer is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining Beehive Industries' industrial security program in compliance with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), Department of Defense requirements, and other applicable government regulations. Reporting to the Director of Compliance & Security, this role serves as the primary point of contact for security-related matters and ensures the protection of classified information, personnel, and facilities. The FSO plays a critical role in maintaining facility security compliance, supporting government contracts, and fostering a strong security culture across the organization.

What You'll Do...

  • Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive industrial security program in accordance with NISPOM, DoD directives, and applicable government security regulations
  • Serve as the primary liaison with the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) and other government security agencies
  • Manage the facility clearance process, including preparing documentation, coordinating submissions, and supporting facility accreditation activities
  • Administer personnel security clearance processes, including initiating investigations, managing reinvestigations, maintaining clearance records, and utilizing DISS (Defense Information System for Security) and other government portals
  • Develop and deliver security education and training awareness (SETA) programs for employees and ensure compliance with security requirements
  • Establish and maintain procedures for the handling, accountability, transmission, storage, and destruction of classified information
  • Implement and oversee physical security programs, including access control procedures, visitor management, alarm systems, secure storage, and facility protection measures
  • Conduct internal security reviews, inspections, and audits to identify compliance gaps and implement corrective actions
  • Investigate and report security incidents, violations, and concerns while maintaining required documentation and records
  • Maintain required security documentation, including Fixed Facility Checklists (FFCs), security procedures, and compliance records
  • Collaborate with internal teams to integrate security requirements into company operations and support government contract obligations

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • Equivalent combination of education, military, or professional experience may be considered

Experience

  • Typically requires a minimum of 10 years of experience in industrial security, preferably within a government contracting environment
  • Experience successfully transitioning a facility from non-Facility Clearance (FCL) accredited to FCL accredited required
  • Experience managing facility security programs, personnel security clearances, and classified information protection processes required
  • Experience with SCIF accreditation and ICD-705 requirements preferred
  • Experience serving as a Facility Security Officer preferred

Skills & Competencies

  • Thorough understanding of NISPOM, DoD security requirements, and government industrial security regulations
  • Strong knowledge of personnel security clearance processes, DISS, and classified information handling requirements
  • Ability to independently manage security programs, compliance activities, and government security requirements
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and recordkeeping abilities
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and interact with government representatives, employees, and leadership
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate issues and implement corrective actions
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Nice to have...

  • Prior experience serving as a Facility Security Officer (FSO)
  • Completion of FSO training courses, including DCSA FSO Program Management for Possessing Facilities
  • Experience supporting Department of Defense, aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated environments
  • Experience with Communications Security (COMSEC) procedures
  • Knowledge of risk management, security vulnerability assessments, and mitigation strategies
  • Experience supporting SCIF operations and classified facility management

In compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this position is $140,000-$172,000 base salary. Please note that wage information is a general guideline only, and we will consider factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, and market conditions when extending an offer.
