Reporting to the IT Director, this position will lead cross-functional initiatives involving Operations, Sales, Customer Service, Planning, Purchasing, Finance, Quality, and IT. The role will drive future ERP deployments, establish governance processes, and champion operational excellence while ensuring the platform continues to support the company's growth strategy.
While the primary focus of this position is ownership and continued evolution of the INVEX ERP platform, the role may also provide leadership and governance for other business applications and enterprise platforms as organizational needs evolve.
Key Responsibilities:
ERP Platform Ownership
• Serve as the primary business owner of the INVEX ERP platform.
• Develop and maintain the ERP strategy, roadmap, and prioritization framework.
• Ensure the platform supports business objectives, operational requirements, and long-term growth plans.
• Partner with software vendors and internal stakeholders to evaluate enhancements and new capabilities.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives that maximize business value and user adoption.
• Ensure system changes support enterprise standards and long-term platform sustainability.
Business Process Transformation
• Lead the development, implementation, and adoption of standardized business processes across operating companies and facilities.
• Facilitate process design and improvement workshops with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, eliminate manual workarounds, and reduce reliance on spreadsheets and disconnected processes.
• Challenge legacy business practices and drive adoption of best practices where appropriate.
• Balance local business requirements with enterprise-wide standardization objectives.
ERP Governance & Platform Stewardship
• Establish and lead ERP governance processes and decision-making frameworks.
• Evaluate, approve, prioritize, or decline enhancement and customization requests.
• Maintain a prioritized backlog of improvement initiatives aligned to business value.
• Champion process standardization while minimizing unnecessary complexity.
• Build stakeholder consensus and provide recommendations that support long-term organizational objectives.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for ERP process, workflow, and platform-related decisions.
Site Deployments & Business Readiness
• Lead ERP deployment, adoption, and continuous improvement initiatives across Combined Metals operating companies, manufacturing facilities, distribution locations, and future acquisitions.
• Coordinate business readiness activities including:
o Process validation
o User acceptance testing
o Data readiness
o Training
o Cutover planning
o Go-live support
• Ensure successful transition from legacy processes and systems to standardized workflows within INVEX.
Organizational Change Management
• Lead organizational change efforts associated with new processes, system capabilities, and business initiatives.
• Develop stakeholder engagement and communication strategies.
• Build strong relationships with business leaders and subject matter experts.
• Drive alignment across departments while managing competing priorities and interests.
• Foster adoption through effective communication, coaching, and change leadership.
Reporting, Data & Analytics
• Partner with business leaders to define reporting and operational KPI requirements.
• Improve visibility into critical business metrics and performance indicators.
• Champion data quality, master data governance, and reporting standards.
• Ensure ERP data supports operational decision-making and strategic planning processes.
• Collaborate with business and technical teams to identify opportunities for process automation and enhanced analytics.
Training & User Adoption
• Develop and maintain ERP training, onboarding, and knowledge management programs.
• Establish and support a network of ERP champions and power users throughout the organization.
• Reduce dependency on tribal knowledge and undocumented processes.
• Promote continuous learning and process consistency across locations.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 7+ years of experience leading ERP implementations, business systems, business transformation, or operational excellence initiatives.
• Experience serving in a leadership role for ERP deployment, optimization, or platform ownership.
• Demonstrated success leading cross-functional initiatives across multiple business functions.
• Strong project leadership, facilitation, and organizational change management skills.
• Experience building consensus among stakeholders with differing priorities.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel up to 10% as required to support business initiatives and implementation activities.

• Strong understanding of manufacturing operational workflows and how ERP systems support them.

• Experience supporting multi-site organizations and balancing local business requirements with enterprise standards.
• Experience with manufacturing ERP platforms such as INVEX, Invera, Epicor, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Oracle, Plex, QAD, or similar platforms.
