Purpose

Global Transaction Banking (GTB) is advancing how corporate and commercial clients connect, transact, and manage payments through digital channels. As more organizations adopt API-enabled banking, ScotiaConnect APIs play a key role in delivering faster, more consistent, and scalable payment experiences for clients across global markets.

As Senior Manager, Product Management - Payments API Standardization, you will lead the strategy, roadmap, and lifecycle management for payment API standards across a global API platform. In this role, you will help shape reusable API capabilities that support consistency, interoperability, scalability, and market readiness across regions, products, and client use cases.

You will work closely with country product teams and cross-functional partners to ensure global payment API capabilities align with local regulatory requirements, payment scheme rules, operational needs, and client expectations. This role offers the opportunity to influence a critical area of digital banking modernization while helping deliver practical, client-focused payment solutions at scale.

This is a strategic, hands-on product leadership opportunity for someone with deep payments and digital product experience who can translate market needs into clear priorities, guide delivery from concept through launch, and support continuous improvement across a complex global environment.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead the product vision, strategy, roadmap, and prioritization for payment API standardization across the ScotiaConnect API platform.
  • Define global product standards and requirements for payment APIs to promote consistency, reuse, scalability, and interoperability across markets.
  • Partner with country product teams to balance global platform standards with local regulatory, payment scheme, operational, and market requirements.
  • Assess market trends, client needs, platform gaps, and regional priorities to identify opportunities for new API capabilities and enhancements.
  • Develop business cases, investment recommendations, and value-based prioritization to support product decisions.
  • Own core product deliverables, including roadmaps, backlogs, epics, features, user stories, acceptance criteria, test case reviews, launch readiness, and product sign-offs.
  • Collaborate with Product, Technology, Engineering, Architecture, Design, Operations, Client Onboarding, Servicing, Sales, Analytics, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Finance, and regional teams to deliver API capabilities from concept through launch.
  • Prioritize initiatives by weighing client value, business outcomes, technical feasibility, operational readiness, risk considerations, and control requirements.
  • Define and monitor product success measures, including adoption, usage, client experience, operational efficiency, and business impact.
  • Support launch planning, stakeholder communications, post-launch optimization, and ongoing lifecycle management.

What You'll Bring:

  • 10+ years of experience in product management, product ownership, digital product delivery, or related roles within financial services, banking, or technology environments.
  • Experience with payments, transaction banking, treasury management, cash management, digital banking, or related financial services products.
  • Experience managing API-based products, platform capabilities, integration services, developer-facing tools, or digital banking platforms.
  • Knowledge of API ecosystems, developer portals, API lifecycle management, product requirements, and platform-based delivery models.
  • Experience delivering products through the full lifecycle, including strategy, discovery, roadmap development, delivery, launch, optimization, and lifecycle management.
  • Experience managing product artifacts such as roadmaps, backlogs, epics, features, user stories, acceptance criteria, test scenarios, product KPIs, and business cases.
  • Experience working in Agile or Scrum delivery environments.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Technology, Engineering, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications & Competencies

  • Experience with corporate payments, cross-border payments, real-time payments, payment modernization, or ISO 20022-related initiatives.
  • Experience working with global or multi-country products, including adapting product capabilities to local market, regulatory, or payment scheme requirements.
  • Experience preparing business cases, assessing market opportunities, and using product metrics or client insights to inform prioritization.
  • Experience collaborating with technology, architecture, operations, risk, compliance, legal, sales, analytics, and regional product teams on complex product initiatives.
  • Agile, Product Owner, payments, API, or related product certifications are an asset.
  • Spanish language proficiency is an asset for collaboration with Spanish-speaking markets.
