Implements strategies for the operational planning, design, and optimization of data center white space, including rack layout, hot/cold aisle containment, power distribution, cable pathways, and build phases, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and operational excellence across region. Manages collaboration with colocation providers, developers, and internal teams (e.g., facilities, construction, operations) across region.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
White Space and Infrastructure Design:
-Implements strategies for the operational planning, design, and optimization of data center white space, including rack layout, hot/cold aisle containment, power distribution, cable pathways, and build phases, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and operational excellence across region.
-Manages the creation and maintenance of comprehensive white space documentation such as room layouts, rack elevations, bill of materials, and structured cabling designs, ensuring alignment to support multiple team goals.
-Develops design standards and Basis of Design (BoD) documents applicable to region, guiding internal and partner teams in delivering white space fit-outs, ensuring practices are aligned with operational initiatives.
-Leads the development of low voltage structured cabling system designs, supporting scalable, high-performance compute, storage, and network systems, providing advanced technical expertise to the team.
-Leads the review process for new site layouts and proposed fit-out designs, including failover configurations, ensuring compliance with multiple team standards and proactively implementing improvement initiatives.
Cross-Functional Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
-Manages collaboration with colocation providers, developers, and internal teams (e.g., facilities, construction, operations) across region.
-Drives the implementation of complex requirements into white space designs that align with multiple team objectives.
-Oversees interfacing with multidisciplinary engineering functions (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire, Controls), ensuring robust integration and reliable system performance.
-Leads high-level project coordination meetings, strategically aligning on scope, timelines, and critical design updates, ensuring that all elements contribute to broader team and multiple team success.
-Ensures the execution of multiple team collaboration strategy with technology partners (e.g., network, compute, carrier) around locating information and resources.
Project and Program Leadership:
-Oversees and drives white space design initiatives and complex engineering projects, managing them from conception through execution to achieve strategic objectives and meet industry standards across region.
-Leads and coordinates internal and external project team members, including contractors and vendors, during design, fit-out, and commissioning phases, ensuring cohesive team operations and alignment with multiple team goals.
-Ensures project deliverables meet and exceed company expectations, standards, and schedules, proactively implementing recommendations to maintain alignment with operational objectives.
-Provides oversight in contract administration by reviewing change orders, cost forecasts, and engineering documentation, ensuring compliance and strategic alignment.
-Mentors and develops junior engineers and new team members, enhancing multiple team capability by fostering development aligned with multiple team objectives.
Operations Support and Site Validation:
-Oversees on-site design validation, commissioning, and engineering analysis across new and existing data centers, leveraging operational insights to optimize design and outcomes across region.
-Serves as a strategic subject matter expert for mission-critical systems, ensuring seamless integration with ongoing operations and promoting operational innovations.
-Leads and coordinates engineering support during live events and incident investigations, ensuring rapid resolution and operational continuity, managing risks and process improvement.
-Ensures comprehensive documentation is captured, stored, and shared with operations and field engineering teams, promoting multiple team knowledge sharing and alignment with strategic goals.
Standards Development and Governance:
-Leads and directs the creation and continuous evolution of regional data center infrastructure standards, policies, and procedures, ensuring alignment with multiple team goals and fostering innovation and efficiency.
-Manages the development and review of documentation for standards adherence, commissioning protocols, and system testing, ensuring accuracy and compliance across data center operations.
-Influences design summits, policy reviews, and commissioning activities to drive continuous improvement and alignment with strategic initiatives.
Technical Innovation and Engineering Excellence:
-Manages research and evaluation of new designs, materials, and construction methods for mission critical systems in data centers, ensuring data center reliability and efficiency across region.
-Manages the development and testing of engineering solutions, leveraging advanced modeling, component testing, and engineering principles to resolve operational challenges and drive enhanced team impact.
-Manages the creation and validation of digitized data center models, driving design integrity and capacity planning, ensuring alignment with multiple team goals.
-Evaluates the enhanced reliability and performance of components, systems, and installation methods used in production environments, providing feedback to teams on improvements to optimize multiple team capabilities.
-Leads and directs internal engineering seminars, training programs, and knowledge-sharing initiatives, fostering a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and growth across teams.
Network Expertise:
-Defines regional global multiple team collaboration strategy with networking teams on network-related efforts (e.g., building fabrics).
Automation:
-Implements multiple team partnership strategy with software engineering team to design data into digital systems for automation.
-Executes multiple team processes around the coordination of design data to work with internal systems and databases.

-Manages multiple medium- to large-scale projects or initiatives across teams, ensuring timelines, deliverables, and budgets when applicable are monitored and met. Provides direction to teams on project work, setting priorities, and aligning with business needs. Guides teams on adjusting plans to accommodate resource or timeline changes.
Collaboration & Partnership:
-Drives cross-functional partnerships to align on expectations and shared objectives across multiple teams. Coaches team members to develop strategic relationships with business leaders, stakeholders, and external partners to foster collaboration and long-term success. Promotes inclusivity by actively seeking and listening to diverse perspectives, ensuring others feel heard and respected.
Problem Solving:
-Provides direction to multiple teams on addressing complex operational and/or technical issues as well as providing guidance on analyzing complex data and/or information to identify solutions. Reviews and provides insights into unresolved or critical issues, helping the team to identify potential solutions.

-Models engaging in continuous learning to deepen expertise and stay ahead of industry trends, integrating best practices into strategic planning. Leverages feedback to drive personal and team skill improvements. Identifies skill gaps across teams, and empowers team members to pursue learning and knowledge sharing opportunities that build their expertise in new areas and coaches them to apply learnings to advance the organization.
Continuous Improvement:
-Drives team to collaborate on, develop, and implement ideas to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of processes, protocols, and workflows within and across teams, providing oversight. Guides team to adopt new ideas for alternative approaches and methods and encourages feedback for continued improvement.
Performance and Development:
-Drives performance across teams by providing feedback and coaching in alignment with performance management processes, guidelines, and expectations. Discusses development goals with team members, shares opportunities to facilitate career development, and ensures individual goals are aligned with broader organizational goals. Develops and manages talent acquisition pipeline by leading candidate interviews, monitoring promotion eligibility, and/or orchestrating talent resources.

Qualifications

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $126,200 to $264,100 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
