The Role:

  • Manage a team of Data Specialists responsible for data governance, master data management, data stewardship, data quality, data design, and data modelling initiatives supporting Cat Financial. The role serves as a key leader in Cat Financials’ data strategy, partnering closely with business, technology, and enterprise stakeholders to establish scalable governance frameworks, improve data quality, and maximize the value of enterprise data assets. A critical focus of this position is leading the Customer 360 customer data mastering process in collaboration with Caterpillar Digital partners while ensuring the ongoing health and integrity of master data matching capabilities. The successful candidate will regularly engage with senior leaders across Cat Financial, Information Technology, Caterpillar Digital, and other Caterpillar divisions to influence large-scale data initiatives and enterprise transformation efforts.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead a team of Data Specialists responsible for Data Governance, Master Data Management (MDM), Data Stewardship, Data Quality, Data Design, and Data Modelling across Cat Financial.
  • Define and execute Cat Financials’ data governance strategy, operating model, policies, and standards to ensure trusted, secure, and high-quality data.
  • Serve as the business leader for the Customer 360 customer data mastering process, partnering closely with Caterpillar Digital and enterprise stakeholders.
  • Drive enterprise data quality initiatives, stewardship programs, metadata management, and master data governance practices that improve data integrity and business outcomes.
  • Lead Master Data Management capabilities across customer, supplier, product, financial, and enterprise data domains, including oversight of matching, survivorship, and master data health.
  • Serve as a key contributor to Cat Financials’ data strategy and influence large-scale data initiatives across Cat Financial, Information Technology, Caterpillar Digital, and other Caterpillar divisions.
  • Partner with business and technology leaders to leverage governed data that enhances customer experience, operational efficiency, analytics, artificial intelligence, and decision-making.
  • Advance enterprise information management practices, including data standards, metadata, data lineage, and cloud-based data capabilities. These align with the DD23 architecture's focus on information management, repository tools, cloud computing, and database structures.
  • Build strong relationships with senior leaders and provide strategic guidance on enterprise data priorities, risks, and opportunities.
  • Develop and coach a high-performing team while fostering a culture of accountability, data ownership, and continuous improvement.

What You Will Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, Data Management, Data Analytics, Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • Progressive experience in enterprise data management, governance, quality, analytics, or information management.
  • People leadership experience leading teams and/or across a matrix organization.
  • Experience implementing enterprise MDM solutions.
  • Experience with customer, supplier, product, and financial master data domains.
  • Experience supporting AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics initiatives.
  • Knowledge of modern cloud platforms including Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
  • Experience within financial services or global enterprise environments.

Additional information:

  • This position requires the successful candidate to work full time, 5 days per week in the Nashville main office.

Compensation & Benefits:

Summary Pay Range:

$151,440.00 - $242,304.00


Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
