Job Description Summary

This position will be based in East Hanover, NJ and will not have the ability to be located remotely. Please note that this role would not provide relocation, and only local candidates will be considered. This position will require up to 5% travel as defined by the business (domestic and/or international).

The Senior Manager, Content Approval Operations drives enterprise-wide process optimization, governance, operational consistency, and continuous improvement across content approval operations. As the central owner of high-priority process, policy, and capability enhancements, this role partners with business, operations, compliance, and technology teams to prioritize and implement scalable solutions, strengthen governance, improve efficiency, and identify automation opportunities. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and strong operator who can lead complex cross-functional initiatives, influence without authority, and deliver measurable business impact in a fast-paced environment.


Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Own and prioritize an enterprise portfolio of process, policy, and capability improvement initiatives.
  • Establish governance frameworks, operating standards, best practices, and business controls that promote consistency, transparency, and accountability.
  • Lead process optimization initiatives from assessment through implementation, simplifying workflows and eliminating inefficiencies.
  • Develop scalable operating models and sustainable solutions that improve operational effectiveness and support organizational growth.
  • Lead complex cross-functional initiatives across business, operations, compliance, and technology teams, aligning stakeholders and facilitating timely decisions.
  • Coordinate priorities, resources, risks, dependencies, and implementation activities across multiple initiatives and workstreams.
  • Maintain process documentation and operational procedures while supporting risk management, audit readiness, and compliance requirements.
  • Identify automation opportunities, translate business challenges into actionable requirements, and partner with technology teams to implement enhancements.
  • Support the adoption and governance of emerging technologies and AI-enabled solutions.
  • Establish performance indicators, analyze operational trends, measure business impact, and provide strategic insights and recommendations to leadership.
Essential Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree required; advanced degree in Life Science, Data Analytics or Business Management preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in operations, program management, process improvement, business transformation, compliance, or related disciplines.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex cross-functional initiatives, driving organizational change, and influencing stakeholders in a matrixed environment, with strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience implementing governance frameworks, business processes, and operational controls.
  • Experience managing multiple priorities and delivering results in a dynamic setting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with operational excellence and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with automation, digital transformation, and emerging technologies.

Desirable Requirements:

  • PMP, Agile, Scrum Master, Lean Six Sigma, or similar certification.
  • Experience leading enterprise transformation initiatives or implementing technology-enabled process improvements in a highly regulated or complex business environment, with knowledge of automation, workflow optimization, and AI-enabled business solutions.

Novartis Compensation Summary:

The salary for this position is expected to range between $108,500 and $201,500 per year.

The final salary offered is determined based on factors like, but not limited to, relevant skills and experience, and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically. Novartis may change the published salary range based on company and market factors.

Your compensation will include a performance-based cash incentive and, depending on the level of the role, eligibility to be considered for annual equity awards.

US-based eligible employees will receive a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, life and disability benefits, a 401(k) with company contribution and match, and a variety of other benefits. In addition, employees are eligible for a generous time off package including vacation, personal days, holidays and other leaves.
