Senior, Manager Commercial Excellence 6 Beverage Liquid Cartons, Spouts & Equipment

Location: Flexible within the U.S. Business Unit:Beverage Liquid Cartons, Spouts & Equipment

 

Position Summary

The Senior Manager, Commercial Excellence is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving commercial performance, process discipline, and data-driven decision-making across the Beverage Liquid Cartons, Spouts & Equipment business. This leader partners closely with Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, and Operations to strengthen commercial capabilities, optimize forecasting and pipeline management, and ensure the business delivers predictable, profitable growth.

The ideal candidate brings strong commercial acumen, analytical rigor, and a passion for building scalable processes that elevate sales effectiveness and customer value.

 

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Strategy & Performance Management

 Lead the development and execution of commercial performance frameworks, KPIs, and dashboards that provide visibility into revenue, margin, pipeline health, and customer trends.

 Partner with Sales leadership to establish clear performance expectations and drive accountability across the commercial organization.

 Translate commercial insights into actionable recommendations for senior leadership.

 

Sales Pipeline & Forecasting Excellence

 Own the end-to-end pipeline management process, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and consistency across regions and customer segments.

 Drive the monthly and quarterly forecasting cycles, integrating inputs from Sales, Finance, and Supply Chain.

 Improve forecast accuracy through enhanced analytics, tools, and process discipline.

 

Pricing, Profitability & Commercial Analytics

 Support pricing strategy development, including price realization tracking, customer profitability analysis, and commercial scenario modeling.

 Provide insights on product mix, cost drivers, and margin performance to inform strategic decisions.

 Partner with Finance to align commercial actions with financial targets.

 

Process Standardization & Commercial Capability Building

 Establish and maintain standardized commercial processes, tools, and governance models across the business.

 Lead continuous improvement initiatives that enhance sales effectiveness, customer engagement, and internal alignment.

 Develop training, playbooks, and best practices to elevate commercial team capabilities.

 

Cross-Functional Leadership & SIOP Integration

 Serve as the commercial lead within the SIOP (Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning) process, ensuring demand inputs are accurate, timely, and aligned with business priorities.

 Collaborate with Operations and Supply Chain to balance customer needs with operational constraints.

 Drive alignment between commercial strategy and operational execution.

 

Strategic Projects & Growth Initiatives

 Support strategic planning, market assessments, and customer segmentation initiatives.

 Lead or contribute to cross-functional projects that advance growth, innovation, or operational excellence.

 Provide commercial leadership for new product introductions, equipment programs, and customer transitions.

 

Qualifications

 Bachelors degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

 10+ years of experience in Commercial Excellence, Sales Operations, Commercial Finance, Strategy, or related fields.

 Experience in packaging, manufacturing, food & beverage, or capital equipment industries strongly preferred.

 Demonstrated success building and scaling commercial processes in a complex, cross-functional environment.

 Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data visualization and CRM tools.

 Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder-management capabilities.

 Ability to influence without authority and drive alignment across diverse teams.

Compensation:

A reasonable estimate of the current range is $125,000 - $175,000 + bonus + benefits. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. At Novolex, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
