Maintenance Manager II

Build Reliability. Lead People. Drive Results.

 

We're seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager II to lead maintenance and reliability operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. In this role, you'll ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of plant equipment and facility systems while leading a skilled maintenance team in a 24/7 operation.

This position is ideal for a maintenance leader who combines strong technical expertise with a passion for team development, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

 

What You'll Do

Lead Maintenance & Reliability

· Oversee preventive, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance programs.

· Maximize equipment reliability, uptime, and asset life while minimizing downtime.

· Drive proactive maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives.

· Improve OEE and equipment performance through data-driven reliability strategies.

· Lead troubleshooting efforts and communicate critical issues to plant leadership.

Develop & Lead Teams

· Supervise, coach, and develop maintenance technicians and contractors.

· Foster a culture of safety, accountability, engagement, and teamwork.

· Ensure effective staffing and resource utilization to support a 24/7 operation.

· Provide performance feedback and support employee growth.

Manage Maintenance Planning

· Own and maintain the CMMS, including asset data, PM programs, and work orders.

· Coordinate maintenance schedules with Production and Engineering.

· Ensure work is properly prioritized, planned, executed, and documented.

· Improve maintenance execution through effective planning and parts management.

Drive Continuous Improvement

· Expand predictive maintenance technologies and reliability practices.

· Utilize root cause analysis and reliability tools to eliminate recurring failures.

· Lead Lean initiatives such as 5S, Standard Work, SMED, and problem-solving activities.

· Support capital projects, equipment upgrades, and new installations.

Manage Budgets & Inventory

· Develop and manage maintenance budgets.

· Control costs while improving equipment reliability.

· Optimize spare parts inventory and vendor relationships.

· Monitor spending and identify savings opportunities.

Champion Safety & Compliance

· Promote a zero-incident safety culture.

· Ensure compliance with OSHA, LOTO, PPE, electrical safety, and environmental requirements.

· Conduct audits, support incident investigations, and implement corrective actions.

 

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

· High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred.

· 5–10 years of industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing.

· Previous maintenance leadership or supervisory experience.

· Experience supporting 24/7 manufacturing operations.

· Knowledge of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.

· Experience with CMMS platforms (SAP, Maximo, Maintenance Connection, MP2, or similar).

· Experience managing maintenance budgets and planning activities.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

· Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or related field.

· SAP experience.

· Experience with capital projects and equipment installations.

· Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement experience.

· CMRP, Lean, Six Sigma, OSHA, or similar certifications.

Technical Expertise

· Mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems

· PLCs, motor controls, and industrial automation

· Facility utilities and support systems

· Preventive and predictive maintenance practices

· Reliability engineering principles

· Blueprint and schematic interpretation

· Root cause analysis and troubleshooting
