What is the Opportunity?

This role is responsible for development and delivery of major change at RBC Direct Investing, a leading-edge digital investment business undergoing significant transformation. The successful candidate will take ownership of individual projects (pods) and oversee all aspects of project design and delivery, from the early stages of inception to implementation, while keeping business strategy and key objectives top of mind. Experience in leading diverse teams, in-depth understanding of the business and its fundamentals and competitive landscape, as well as proven ability to effectively navigate high levels of technical and stakeholder complexity are a must. Furthermore, the role requires deep insight and expertise for one or several of the following critical domains: product, pricing, operations, data & analytics, marketing, digital product, customer experience.

The role offers a structured leadership and personal development opportunity and has high exposure to senior and executive leadership levels of the business.

What will you do?
  • Drive Execution: Take full ownership of critical transformation projects and product launches, driving them from inception to implementation while ensuring alignment with business strategy and objectives.
  • Communicate with Impact: Deliver clear, concise, and compelling communication tailored to diverse audiences, from frontline teams to senior executives, ensuring alignment and understanding of goals and strategies.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-Haves:
  • 5+ years of experience in the investment industry or equivalent investing knowledge.
  • Proven track record of managing and delivering complex, high-impact projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of business fundamentals, investment products, and competitive dynamics.
  • Expertise in digital product development and design, with a focus on creating exceptional customer experiences.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills, with a natural comfort working with data and numbers.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • A "get-things-done" mindset, with a proactive approach to identifying and solving challenges.
  • Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex ideas and inspire confidence in diverse audiences.
  • A strategic thinker who can connect the dots between business goals, customer needs, and operational realities.


Nice-to-Haves:
  • Experience working in Agile frameworks and familiarity with project life cycles.
  • Professional designations such as CFA, Canadian Securities Course (CSC), Conduct &
  • Practices Handbook (CPH), or Options Licensing Course (OLC).
  • Expertise in operational, legal, regulatory, and governance issues related to investments.
  • Strong knowledge of brokerage and investment systems.
