Overview

As the Senior Manager, Business Development for Bio-Rad’s Clinical Diagnostics Group (CDG), you will be a key contributor in pursuing inorganic initiatives, partnerships, alliance management, and key licensing activities. This role will work within teams to support the assessment of external opportunities by leading workstream diligence and developing business cases that align with CDG’s inorganic growth strategy. You will generate, negotiate, and execute external opportunities globally by taking a role in all aspects both internally and externally. Navigating complexity while bringing a pragmatic and solution-oriented mindset is required. We welcome your strategic thinking, strong business acumen, communication and influencing skills across multiple projects simultaneously. 

How You’ll Make An Impact: 

  • Leads partnership initiatives to drive strategic opportunities with large, complex global organizations 
  • Research relevant markets in diagnostics using a comprehensive and self-directed approach including the latest tools for competitive intelligence. 
  • Builds and maintains strong industry relationships and competitive knowledge. Facilitates due diligence activities by partnering with internal cross-functional team members and external sources as needed in a timely and accurate manner. 
  • Develops term sheets and leads contract negotiations with input from functional leaders. 
  • Partners with Corporate Business Development and provides project management support to ensure thorough diligence and valuation processes. 
  • Supports the Business Development and Corporate Development teams in building and maintaining P&L DCF models, peer comparisons, and ROI valuation and statistical models to justify business investments or acquisitions. 
  • Identifies, screens, and values inorganic opportunities against internal development and CDG strategic goals in partnership with internal subject matter experts. 
  • Supports strategic R&D by identifying core competencies and developing and supporting pilots projects for technology evaluations. 

What You Bring: 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in product marketing, finance or a scientific discipline. Advanced degree (MBA, MS, or PhD) or equivalent background preferred. 
  • Work Experience: 5+ years of work experience in business development in life sciences or clinical diagnostics industry.
  • Entrepreneurial with a self-starter mentality. 
  • Ability to excel under deadline pressure, handle simultaneous projects. 
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail. 
  • Quick learner adept at self-management. 
  • Experience and ability to present and communicate work to senior management effectively. 
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal. 
  • Mastery of productivity tools from Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.

Compensation: The estimated salary range for this position is $125,500 to $216,400 at the time of posting. This range is inclusive of all geographic locations within the United States*. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of an offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors. This position is eligible for a variable annual bonus, which is dependent upon achievement of your individual objectives and Company performance. *Minimum reflects our lowest paying locations, and the top end reflects our highest paying locations. The range in your geographic location will vary but will be within the indicated ranges.
