Minimum qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Engineering, Sciences, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 9 years of experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL), querying databases or statistical analysis.
  • 6 years of experience as a people manager within a technical leadership role.
  • Experience managing data sets to solve product or business problems.

Preferred qualifications:
  • 11 years of experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL), querying databases or statistical analysis.
  • Experience with code management concepts (google3, cider, blaze) and a desire to evolve at pace with AI.
  • People management experience, particularly ability to mentor highly technical teams.
  • Knowledge of our product areas and of data science financial concepts (ROAS, incrementality, inference, etc.).
  • Willingness to teach others and learn new analytical techniques, coding frameworks, etc.
  • Excellent problem solving and analysis skills, with impeccable business judgment and the ability to communicate and partner with a senior management team.

Google's leadership team hand-picks thorny business challenges, and members of BizOps work in small teams to find solutions. As part of this team you fully immerse yourself in data collection, draw insight from analysis, and then zoom out to develop compelling, synthesized recommendations. Taking strategy one step further, you also persuasively communicate your recommendations to senior-level executives, roll-up your sleeves to help drive implementation and check back-in to see the impact of your recommendations.

We provide GBO leadership with strategy and insights, which maximize the value of our business to customers and to Google, through commercial actions we identify, prioritize, monitor and evaluate in partnership with GPS, GTM and other Finance teams. As part of this team, you will have the opportunity to flex technical, analytical, strategic and business partnering skills to influence senior executive decisions.

Within GBO Product Finance, the Search Core team is responsible for partnering with the GPS Search organization, and in charge of incrementality and opportunity sizing across products in partnership with Econ, as well as the GCE team. In addition, we build core infrastructure and tooling to be utilised across the wider analyst community in GBO Finance.

We are seeking team members with a high degree of curiosity and passion about Google, wanting to positively influence the strategic direction of the Ads business, and who knows how to operate in a fast-paced and at times unstructured environment as part of our globally distributed team with big goals. We are also leading innovation in deploying AI at scale to solve business problems.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $240000 - $333000 (USD) 25% bonus target equity benefits

Responsibilities
  • Manage a group of experienced data scientists with a portfolio of projects guiding and supporting decision making in the Search space.
  • Build strong relationships with the Search team leadership and represent a critical and grounded Finance POV in various decision making forums.
  • Help the team solve complex and ambiguous problems through combination of technical, statistical, analytical and business acumen.
  • Nurture strategic partnership with other analytical teams such as Econ, Product Data Science, and GPS strategists to propose exceptional work to our partners.
  • Develop with the team the next generation of AI infrastructure and tooling to increase productivity.
