What is the opportunity?

Join a strong multi-disciplinary team which supports interest rate risk production model development, analytics, implementation and operations. This role maintains RBC's Asset Liability Management (ALM) reporting processes, advances process automation and works closely with senior management across Corporate Treasury FTP, Execution and Finance functions.

What will you do?
  • Support development and implementation of models and methodologies used for measurement of Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Book (IRRBB). Review Interest Rate Risk and FTP methodologies, metrics, reporting and modelling to ensure alignment with core strategies.
  • Lead on reporting automation and efficiencies for regulatory reporting, internal management reporting, and external disclosures; along with risk / sensitivity profiles, position data, behavior tracking, and compliance reporting.
  • Support development of new modeling methods and capabilities enabling dynamic simulation of balance sheet product mix and pricing changes in support of earnings risk measures and stress testing. Provide insights into model capabilities and limitations plus challenge protocols to ensure assumptions and processes are robust and well supported. An intuitive understanding of risk models and measures is important to the role to support screening and a robust measurement process.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation regarding risk measurement methodology, processes and procedures, product modeling and implementation of model enhancements.
  • Keep abreast of main economic variables and market conditions across main jurisdictions (Canada, Europe and United States) and provide senior management with analysis of impact to IRRBB.

  • Strong ability to communicate, verbally and in writing, complex concepts to a non-technical, senior audience.
  • Good understanding of business and accounting regulations.
  • Solid understanding of financial principles and risk concepts.
  • Good database concept and skills (SQL).


Nice-to-have
  • QRM process and development skills.
  • Experience with Tableau.
  • MBA, CFA or FRM preferred.
