Senior Mainframe Operations
Developer III - Software Engineering
You Are:
The Senior Mainframe Operations role provides advanced operational support, technical guidance, and mentorship to Junior Resources. Senior Resources are responsible for stability, incident leadership, and operational excellence within the mainframe environment. The role supports 24x7 production operations and follows established procedures to detect, escalate, and resolve system issues in accordance with operational and security standards.
The opportunity:
• Lead monitoring and control of mainframe production environments.
• Perform advanced operational tasks, including complex job recovery, system coordination, and troubleshooting.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for incidents, outages, and operational exceptions.
• Guide, coach, and mentor Junior Mainframe Operations Resources during training and on the job activities.
• Coordinate with system programmers, application teams, and infrastructure teams during incidents and changes.
• Support change management, releases, maintenance windows, and disaster recovery activities.
• Review and improve runbooks, procedures, and operational documentation.

What you need:
• 4-5 years of experience supporting mainframe production operations
• Proven ability to ensure system stability, availability, and compliance with operational and security standards
• Demonstrated leadership during high-severity incidents, including coordination, escalation, and resolution
• Experience mentoring junior resources and providing technical guidance to support team effectiveness
• Strong focus on operational excellence, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement of support processes
Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below.
Role Location: Nebraska
Compensation Range: $68,000-$102,000

Full-time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year), 10 paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty. Full-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year) and are eligible to participate in the Company's 401(k) program with employer matching. They and their dependents residing in the US are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance.
Part-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year).
