Full Job Description
As Senior Logistics Specialist, you will serve as Kardium Inc's authority on logistics, overseeing all related activities, including monitoring service provider performance, and collaborating with transportation partners and internal teams to drive continuous operational improvements. Your meticulous attention to detail and proactive methodologies will play a pivotal role in optimizing our manufacturing operations. This position reports to the Planning and Inventory Manager. Please note, this opportunity is a Hybrid work arrangement, located in Burnaby, BC. What you'll be doing Your responsibilities will include: • Manage inbound, outbound and reverse logistics and product distribution and act as primary logistics subject matter expert (SME). • Periodically analyze logistics needs and requirements and ensure Kardium has the right partners to support long term growth. • Attend onsite audits of logistics locations with Kardium auditors and contribute as SME during the audit process. • Ensure appropriate processes and controls for management, handling, shipment and tracking of medical devices are implemented. • Ensure shipping processes and documentation comply with relevant laws as well as customs and environment and safety regulations. • Guide logistics decisions and help mentor and develop logistics team members. • Identify potential risks to logistics services and develop appropriate mitigations and contingency plans to address logistics disruptions. • Negotiate and establish service agreements with transportation and 3PL providers. • Continuously monitor shipping conditions and patterns and work with logistics and 3PL providers to ensure timely delivery. • Monitor and report on KPIs. • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and logistics and 3PL partners to leverage technology continuously improve logistics cost and efficiency. • Maintain accurate database records for tariff classifications, USMCA, and trade agreements, with regular updates to HS Codes. • Ensure accurate billing and tax payments. We understand that only by working together can we solve what was thought unsolvable. • Bachelor's degree or other relevant designation in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field. • Minimum 5 years of logistics or distribution management experience, including import/export and trade and customs compliance. • Strong knowledge of import/export processes, customs and trade compliance, USMCA. • Understanding of logistics, distribution, and customs and trade compliance best practices. • Understanding of risk management concepts and experience driving risk assessments. • Demonstrated experience working with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives. • Experience working in a highly regulated industry preferred. Compensation Kardium has listed the total cash compensation range that we expect to pay applicants for this role, as of the time of this posting. Pay offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, and business or organizational needs. For candidates with more experience than listed above, the pay range will be higher. • $80,000 - $110,000 (CAD Annually)
