Position Description & Qualifications

Serco is seeking a Senior Logistics & Program Management Professional to support Department of Defense (DoD) acquisition, sustainment, and lifecycle management programs. The ideal candidate is a strategic logistics leader with extensive experience in acquisition logistics, Integrated Product Support (IPS), supply chain management, lifecycle sustainment planning, Foreign Military Sales (FMS), and operational readiness.

The successful candidate will provide expert-level guidance to government and industry stakeholders throughout the acquisition lifecycle, ensuring weapon systems, platforms, and support systems achieve readiness, affordability, maintainability, and long-term sustainment objectives.

This position requires a seasoned professional capable of advising senior leaders, leading cross-functional teams, managing complex logistics initiatives, and developing innovative solutions to support national security objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Acquisition Logistics & Sustainment: Lead acquisition logistics planning and execution throughout all phases of the DoD acquisition lifecycle; Develop and maintain Life Cycle Sustainment Plans (LCSPs), Product Support Strategies, Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) documentation, and sustainment analyses; Evaluate logistics requirements, supportability considerations, and sustainment risks for major defense acquisition programs; Support program offices with logistics planning, provisioning, maintenance concepts, technical data management, and supply support strategies; Conduct logistics assessments and provide recommendations to improve readiness, availability, reliability, and lifecycle affordability; Integrated Product Support (IPS)
  • Provide expertise across the 12 Integrated Product Support Elements: Develop sustainment metrics and performance management frameworks; Support Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Supportability (RAMS) analyses; Ensure sustainment planning aligns with operational requirements and program objectives.
  • Supply Chain & Operational Excellence:Analyze and optimize global supply chains supporting defense and aerospace systems; Assess sourcing strategies, inventory management policies, warehousing operations, transportation networks, and supplier performance; Identify opportunities to improve supply chain resilience, reduce risk, and enhance operational efficiency; Develop logistics business case analyses and support make-versus-buy decisions.
  • Foreign Military Sales (FMS): Support development and execution of Foreign Military Sales logistics and sustainment programs; Coordinate lifecycle logistics planning with international partners and government stakeholders; Provide expertise related to sustainment contracts, maintenance support, and logistics readiness for allied and partner nations;
  • Strategic Advisory Support:Advise senior government and industry leaders on acquisition strategy, logistics modernization, sustainment policy, and workforce development initiatives;Support major investment decisions through operational assessments, logistics evaluations, and risk analysis; Facilitate collaboration among engineering, contracting, program management, maintenance, and logistics organizations.
To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Master's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field; Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required.
  • Minimum 20 years of progressive experience in DoD acquisition logistics, Integrated Product Support (IPS), Lifecycle sustainment, Supply chain management, Aerospace and defense operations
  • Experience supporting Major Defense Acquisition Programs (MDAPs) or equivalent complex acquisition programs.
  • Experience developing and executing logistics strategies for military platforms, systems, or programs.
  • Demonstrated experience managing large organizations, budgets, and complex logistics operations.
  • Experience collaborating with senior leaders, acquisition professionals, operational commands, and industry partners.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Former military officer (O-6 or equivalent senior leadership experience preferred).
  • Experience supporting Air Force, Space Force, Navy, Army, or Joint acquisition programs.
  • Experience with aerospace maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) operations.
  • Experience managing Foreign Military Sales sustainment programs.
  • Experience conducting due diligence, logistics assessments, and operational evaluations.
  • Experience supporting defense manufacturing, depot operations, and aftermarket services.
  • Expertise in logistics modeling, simulation, operations research, or supply chain analytics.
  • Prior experience in executive-level leadership positions.
