Full Job Description
The Royal Caribbean Group's Analytics Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full-time Sr. Lead, Data Engineering reporting to the Director, Data Solutions Engineering

The position is onsite and based in Miramar, Florida.

Position Summary:

The Lead, Data Engineer is responsible for leading the data engineering functions by delivering enterprise curated data solutions that enables our enterprise-wide Data and AI platform to drive business. S/He will lead the Data Engineering on the ERP modernization project for the next 16 months and any subsequent initiative to deliver an exhaustive set of data products for Finance and Accounting subject areas. S/He will collaborate with 3rd party vendors, business partners and IT stakeholders to ensure the new data products will enable enterprise Finance and Accounting Analytics, reporting and AI capabilities. S/He will oversee the design, architecture, and implementation of the RCG data products for Finance and Accounting. S/he will be responsible for growing and mentoring team members and align with strategic direction for the data engineering goals.

This role will require some international travel for meetings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Leads, motivates, coaches, empowers a team in the design, build and delivery of enterprise class data products for Finance and Accounting areas, that are reusable and non-perishable using industry and RCG best practices and standards
  • Establishes and ensures best practices for the software development lifecycle including solution architecture, build, and test
  • Establishes operational and technical strategies for Data Products including the development of standards, roadmaps, and delivery.
  • Develops and leverages collaborative relationships within and across the organization to build solutions that will enable data analysis, exploration capabilities to add business value to RCG achieve results.
  • Provides technical leadership in building foundational systems designed and developed for the enterprise
  • Develops project and funding proposals for programs that provide continuous delivery of cost-effective data solutions that meet business requirements
  • Leads recruitment efforts to attract, retain high quality and diverse talent
  • Drives the maturity and adoption of our current analytics capabilities by progressing from traditional BI to true Analytics to take advantage of the emerging technologies around Descriptive and Predictive Analytics.
  • Anticipates and analyzes trends in technology while assessing the emerging technologies impacts
  • Works with product and enterprise teams via both Agile and Waterfall Methodologies

Qualifications:

  • 7 + years working with data solution design, development and Implementation, enhanced reporting analytics and/or related experience in Data Analysis and/or data management solutions
  • Experience in leading the delivery of data solutions for business and digital transformation projects of varying sizes and complexities.
  • Technical capabilities in: Azure Data Factory (ADF), DataBricks, OracleExadata, Big Data, NoSQL, PL/SQL, SQL, T-SQL
  • Excellent in managing teams both technical and business and providing guidance and motivating the team to deliver and perform.
  • Proven leadership skills in Project Management and resource management
  • Demonstrated ability to closely collaborate with cross-functional teams and managing diverse stakeholders to achieve project objectives and drive successful outcomes


Knowledge and Skills:
  • Expertise in data analysis, data integration, data modeling, data auditing, analytical reporting, survey analysis, key drivers, analysis, dashboards, technical troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practice and enterprise grade accounting operations, familiar with accounting and finance data
  • Expertise in leading teams optimizing ETL processes, developing data & analytics solutions and platforms to solve complex scenarios in an agile manner.
  • Experience with Agile/Dev Ops methodologies and tools
  • Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective verbal, presentation, written and listening communications skills
