Role Overview

We are seeking experienced Senior Java Developers with strong Java and J2EE development experience to support web application development. The ideal candidates will have experience with Java application components, complex SQL development, batch jobs, web services, MVC architecture, and enterprise application servers.

Prior experience with Integrated Eligibility Systems (IES) will be an added advantage. Candidates should be comfortable performing root cause research and analysis and working in an onsite development environment.

Required Skills
• 3+ years of development experience with Java 6.0 and J2EE application components
• Strong experience with JSP, Custom Tag Libraries, JavaScript, Session EJBs, JDBC, and related J2EE technologies
• Experience using Java Integrated Development Environments such as RAD 7.5 or above
• Strong understanding of Object Oriented Analysis and Design
• Experience with Singleton, Factory, and DAO design patterns
• Strong understanding of MVC architecture
• Experience developing batch jobs and web services
• Experience with IBM WebSphere Application Server 8.0
• Experience with relational databases and writing complex SQL statements
• Experience with DB2 and Oracle databases
• Strong root cause research and analysis skills
• Strong understanding of enterprise web application development
• Good communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Skills
• Experience with IBM WebSphere Application Server 8.0 running in a SuSE Linux 11 environment
• Experience with VMware environments
• Prior experience working with Integrated Eligibility Systems (IES)
• Experience supporting government or public sector eligibility systems
• Experience troubleshooting complex enterprise application issues

Key Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain Java based web applications using Java 6.0 and J2EE technologies
• Develop application components using JSP, Custom Tag Libraries, JavaScript, Session EJBs, JDBC, and related technologies
• Design and develop applications using Object Oriented Analysis and Design principles
• Apply established design patterns including Singleton, Factory, and DAO
• Develop applications following MVC architecture
• Design and develop batch jobs and web services
• Develop and execute complex SQL statements using DB2 and Oracle
• Support application development and maintenance activities within IBM WebSphere Application Server 8.0
• Perform root cause research and analysis for application issues
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across web applications and enterprise systems
• Collaborate with technical and functional teams throughout the development lifecycle
• Participate in code development, testing, debugging, and deployment activities
• Support application enhancements and maintenance requirements
• Document technical solutions and development activities
• Contribute to the successful delivery of enterprise application development initiatives

Education Requirement
• Relevant education in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred.
