Full Job Description
  • Develop and execute category strategies for technology and IT-related spend, including enterprise software, SaaS, cloud, infrastructure, cybersecurity, networking, telecoms, technology consulting, and emerging AI/ML solutions.
  • Lead end-to-end strategic sourcing activity, including market analysis, demand planning, supplier identification, RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, bid evaluation, negotiations, award recommendations, and implementation support.
  • Own and manage a forward-looking renewal pipeline for material IT contracts, identifying opportunities to consolidate suppliers, reduce duplicate spend, renegotiate pricing, improve commercial terms, and avoid unnecessary auto-renewals.
  • Partner with Technology leadership and business owners to understand technology roadmaps, budget priorities, service requirements, and vendor dependencies.
  • Negotiate complex commercial terms, including pricing, discounts, enterprise licensing models, consumption-based pricing, service credits, benchmarking, renewal caps, audit rights, and termination rights.
  • Work closely with Legal to support consistent contracting positions and appropriate escalation of key legal and regulatory issues, including liability, data protection, confidentiality, intellectual property, audit, outsourcing, resilience, and exit provisions.
  • Coordinate with Information Security, Data Privacy, Enterprise Vendor Risk Management, Compliance, Business Continuity, and Architecture teams to ensure technology suppliers are reviewed and onboarded in accordance with applicable procurement, risk, and governance requirements.
  • Support sourcing and contracting processes for higher-risk engagements, including vendors with access to Janus Henderson systems, personal data, confidential information, ICT services, AI/ML functionality, or critical business processes.
  • Use spend data, contract data, and supplier performance information to identify savings opportunities, risk concentrations, and sourcing priorities.
  • Track and report sourcing pipeline, savings delivery, avoided cost, contract risk improvements, cycle times, and stakeholder outcomes.
  • Build strong relationships with key vendors and internal stakeholders, acting as a trusted commercial advisor and escalation point for technology sourcing matters.
  • Contribute to procurement playbooks, templates, governance standards, and continuous improvement initiatives that support a scalable global strategic sourcing model.

Must have skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Technology, Law, Operations, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, vendor management, commercial negotiation, or a related discipline, with significant experience in IT or technology categories.
  • Strong understanding of technology sourcing, including software licensing, SaaS, cloud services, infrastructure, cybersecurity, telecoms, professional services, and technology outsourcing.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex sourcing events and negotiations with major technology suppliers.
  • Strong commercial acumen, including ability to analyze pricing models, license metrics, renewal structures, total cost of ownership, and supplier proposals.
  • Experience working with Legal, Technology, Finance, Information Security, Data Privacy, Compliance, and Vendor Risk teams in a regulated environment.
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to use spend, contract, and supplier data to develop sourcing strategies and measure outcomes.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders and translate complex commercial issues into clear recommendations.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple sourcing initiatives, renewals, and stakeholder priorities at the same time.


Nice to have skills

  • Experience in financial services, asset management, or another regulated industry.
  • Knowledge of third-party risk management, operational resilience, outsourcing, DORA, information security, data privacy, and audit requirements as they apply to technology suppliers.
  • Experience with enterprise software licensing and major technology vendors, including Microsoft, Salesforce, cloud providers, market technology platforms, cybersecurity providers, and managed service providers.
  • Familiarity with procurement, contract lifecycle management, vendor risk, and e-sourcing platforms such as Agiloft, Coupa, SAP Ariba, Jaggaer, Ivalua, OneTrust, or similar tools.
  • Experience developing category plans, supplier segmentation models, negotiation playbooks, and sourcing governance frameworks.
  • Professional certifications such as CIPS, CPSM, CSCP, ITIL, Lean Six Sigma, or project management qualifications.
  • Experience supporting global sourcing initiatives across the US, UK, EMEA, and APAC.

Compensation information

The base salary range for this position is $140,000 to $145,000. This range is estimated for this role. Actual pay may be different. This role will remain open through August 31, 2026.
