Full Job Description
Senior IT Program Manager for a hybrid opportunity for candidates in Columbia, SC. The Candidate will lead large-scale, enterprise IT programs consisting of multiple interconnected projects and cross-functional teams. The Candidate will be responsible for driving program execution, governance, and delivery while ensuring alignment with organizational priorities, executive expectations, and formal PMO standards.

Required Qualifications for the Senior IT Program Manager
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 7+ years of IT experience in project or program management roles
  • 4+ years of experience leading multiple concurrent projects as a Program Manager
  • Demonstrated success delivering large-scale, complex IT initiatives within a formal PMO environment
  • Experience applying structured methodologies, including:
    • Waterfall
    • Hybrid delivery models
    • Governance frameworks
    • Risk and issue management
    • Scope and change control processes
    • Stage-gate methodologies
  • Proven experience managing enterprise-level programs with multiple cross-functional dependencies
  • Strong executive communication, presentation, and reporting skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint Online, and Microsoft Teams
  • Ability to manage budgets, schedules, risks, and resources across complex initiatives
  • Strong stakeholder management and organizational alignment skills

Preferred Skills/Experience of the Senior IT Program Manager:
  • PMP Certification (current or active)
  • Experience leading enterprise transformation or PMO-driven programs
  • Experience managing or mentoring multiple Project Managers
  • Strong understanding of enterprise governance, reporting structures, and steering committee processes
  • Experience working directly with executive leadership teams

Responsibilities of the Senior IT Program Manager:
  • Lead and oversee large, complex enterprise programs with multiple workstreams and project teams
  • Apply formal PMO governance structures, methodologies, and program management best practices
  • Manage program scope, schedule, budget, quality, risks, dependencies, and resource allocation
  • Coordinate execution across multiple concurrent initiatives with interdependent deliverables
  • Facilitate steering committee meetings, executive briefings, and governance reviews
  • Develop and present executive-level reporting, dashboards, and program status updates
  • Ensure compliance with PMO standards, documentation requirements, and governance controls
  • Identify, track, and mitigate risks, issues, and change requests across programs
  • Partner with business and technology leaders to align program outcomes with strategic objectives
  • Provide leadership, oversight, and direction to project managers and technical teams
  • Monitor program performance and implement corrective actions when necessary

Work Location: Hybrid onsite schedule in Columbia, SC with multiple onsite days required weekly
