Usability Designer II for a hybrid opportunity for candidates in Columbia, SC. Candidate will contribute to the design, development, and improvement of user-centered interfaces for web-based applications across desktop, tablet, and mobile platforms. They will transform business requirements and user needs into intuitive design solutions while supporting usability best practices throughout the product lifecycle.
Required Qualifications of Usability Designer II:- Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to provide sponsorship or work with Third-Party agencies.
- 2+ years of experience in user interface or UX design
- Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Behavioral Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong understanding of usability principles, UX methodologies, and interface design best practices
- Experience creating design artifacts such as wireframes, prototypes, and mockups
- Working knowledge of HTML/CSS concepts as they relate to UI design
- Proficiency with design tools such as Figma and Adobe Creative Suite
- Strong visual design skills including layout, typography, and composition
- Ability to interpret user research data and translate insights into design improvements
- Strong communication skills with ability to collaborate across technical and business teams
Preferred Skills/Experience of the Usability Designer II:- Experience conducting or supporting user research and usability testing
- Familiarity with task flow analysis, personas, and journey mapping
- Experience working in agile or cross-functional product development environments
- Ability to facilitate discussions or working sessions with stakeholders
- Strong adaptability in fast-paced or evolving project environments
Responsibilities of Usability Designer II:- Create user-centered interface designs for web, mobile, and desktop applications under guidance from senior UX staff
- Develop wireframes, prototypes, and visual design artifacts to communicate user experience concepts
- Support user research activities including feedback collection, usability testing, and task flow analysis
- Analyze user data and research findings to recommend design improvements and iterative enhancements
- Collaborate closely with developers and stakeholders to ensure accurate implementation of design intent
- Contribute to maintaining usability standards, documentation, and UX best practices across projects
Work Location: Hybrid role with on-site work required several days per week and additional on-site presence as needed in Columbia, SC. Work is performed during standard business hours with occasional overtime as required.
