Team Overview

The Pan-Alternatives team at Aksia is responsible for developing and maintaining ongoing relationships with a variety of sophisticated investors, by bringing together the resources of the firm for the benefit of each client. The team not only works with existing clients on the development and implementation of their alternative investment portfolios but is also the central point for the marketing and business development efforts of the firm's various business lines.

Position Overview

Aksia is seeking a senior professional to join our Pan-Alternatives team. The incumbent will lead client relationships though sound understanding of their strategic objectives and support the development of their alternative investment portfolio(s) on a bespoke basis. The position includes advising our clients on portfolio construction, risk management, manager evaluation, portfolio analysis and implementation, as well as governance management, ESG, and reporting requirements.

This role can be based anywhere in the US, with a preference for New York City or San Diego, and will include regular interaction with Aksia colleagues, clients, and prospects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leading small, client-focused teams to advise clients on strategies, managers, and portfolio construction/allocation across alternative asset classes with a particular focus in private equity and private credit
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with sophisticated institutional investor clients and prospects
  • Spearhead client-focused projects across research, advisory, legal/compliance and client operations teams
  • Continually developing knowledge and expertise of new funds, strategies, and investment opportunities to help clients meet their objectives
  • Educating clients on our proprietary research and analytics platform
  • Drive client retention and business development efforts by cultivating trusted relationships with existing clients and supporting new client acquisition opportunities

Qualifications:
  • 10+ years investment, allocation, and/or research experience in the alternative space
  • Strong preference towards prior experience in private equity and private credit strategies (primaries, secondaries, and/or co-investments)
  • Proven experience advising institutional investors on strategic asset allocation, portfolio design, governance considerations, and long-term investment program development
  • Strong client relationship management skills, with a demonstrated ability to build credibility, influence decision-makers, and serve as a trusted advisor to investment committees, boards, and senior investment professionals.
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and presentation abilities, with the capacity to translate complex investment concepts and recommendations into clear, actionable insights for diverse audiences.
  • Commercially minded, with experience supporting business development efforts, cultivating prospective client relationships, and contributing to the growth of investment advisory or asset management businesses
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented leader with strong project management skills, sound judgment, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.


The estimated base salary range for this position is $180,000 to $250,000, which is specific to New York and may change in the future. Aksia provides a total compensation package which includes a base salary, discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package. Individual compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and local cost of labor.
