Full Job Description
Job Summary

This role utilizes strong, critical thinking skills to identify and assess suspicious activity, intelligence, and security incidents at company facilities and assets. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Performs structured analysis of energy-related, event data, to determine threats, vulnerabilities, trends, and impacts to energy infrastructure.
  • Monitors security and crime trends at company locations, and throughout the energy industry.
  • Documents research and analysis in written reports.
  • Provides oral intelligence briefings on incidents and threats impacting energy infrastructure.
  • Manages multiple priorities and projects with consistent results.
  • Makes independent decisions, and provides decision support for lower-level analysts.
  • Establishes processes, and identifies tools for efficient collection, analysis, and dissemination of threat intelligence.
  • Conducts open-source research, and assesses incoming threat stream, to develop accurate conclusions and appropriate recommendations for security responses.
  • Monitors and shares threat alerts, warnings, and advisories with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Builds relationships and regularly communicates with other energy analysts, government fusion centers, law enforcement at local, state, and federal levels, and regulatory agencies, to share information about physical and cyber threats, vulnerabilities, incidents, and potential protective measures.
  • Perform other duties as requested or assigned.


Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Minimum Requirements (Note: a Master's degree will count as one year of experience. A partial year of six months or more will be rounded to one year)

Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in corporate security, intelligence analysis, law enforcement, government, regulatory agencies, or related fields. Direct intelligence analysis experience is strongly preferred.

Specific knowledge, skills, abilities and experience include:
  • Strong understanding of intelligence research methodologies, analytic frameworks, and investigative techniques.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of security challenges facing energy companies and critical infrastructure, including threat identification, risk assessment, and protective security measures.
  • Knowledge of physical security principles, threat management practices, and advanced security technologies utilized in corporate and critical infrastructure environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare professional intelligence products and deliver effective briefings to senior leaders, internal stakeholders, and external partners.
  • Proven leadership, sound judgment, and critical thinking skills in assessing complex security situations and making informed decisions.

  • Ability to communicate findings and recommendations to both internal and external stakeholders, applying the appropriate level of urgency and sensitivity.
  • Ability to collect, analyze, safeguard, and disseminate sensitive intelligence and security information in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Ability to identify, assess, and communicate security risks and their potential operational impacts.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while consistently achieving objectives and delivering high-quality results.
  • Ability to coordinate cross-functional processes and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to lead initiatives, influence outcomes, and contribute positively within a team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to professionalism, integrity, confidentiality, and ethical conduct in handling sensitive information.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government-issued security clearance, as required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting critical infrastructure protection programs within the energy sector.
  • Experience collaborating with government fusion centers, intelligence organizations, law enforcement agencies, or industry information-sharing groups.
  • Familiarity with open-source intelligence (OSINT), threat intelligence platforms, and intelligence production processes.
  • Knowledge of both physical and cyber threat environments affecting critical infrastructure organizations.
  • Advanced degree in intelligence analysis / homeland security.

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Bachelor
