Job Summary

Dominion Energy South Carolina (DESC) seeks a Power Generation Site Manager who will be responsible for Wateree Station, a two-unit coal-fired generation site located near Eastover, SC.

The Power Generation Site Manager is responsible for the leadership of all activities for Wateree Station. This includes managing a team of employees focused on areas of operations, maintenance, material handling, and engineering in day-to-day operations with constant focus on safety as well as long-term maintenance planning and execution. This position will manage power production operations and maintenance in compliance with environmental regulations, safety and loss prevention methods while maintaining cost control and ensuring reliable station performance. Additional responsibilities include developing, managing and reporting on station business plans, budgets, goals, and inventory levels. The position also represents the station and company in community, industry, and regulatory activities.

This position reports to the General Manager, Power Generation Operations.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to create a teamwork environment and motivate people to work collaboratively by setting an example.
  • Strong financial (O&M) and capital budgeting planning and administration experience required.
  • Ability to participate in and maintain industry contacts through various trade organizations, industry contacts, and other interactions.
  • Major maintenance overhaul and repair experience.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Human relations and organizational skills.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability and flexibility to travel as needed.
  • The successful candidate must be willing to reside within an approximate one-hour drive to the plant.


Qualifications:
    • An excellent understanding of business principles, capable of running the plant as a business to include strategic and long-range planning and a strong understanding of financial and capital budgets and how to balance the needs of safety, reliability and costs is required.
    • Second level supervisory or manager experience in power plant operations and/or maintenance or similar leadership experience is required
    • A fundamental knowledge of electrical, mechanical and instrumentation disciplines and the interrelationship of the equipment within the process of power plant operations is required.
    • A working knowledge of power plant software systems related to plant operations is required.
    • A functional understanding of all environmental rules, laws and regulations governing the utility industry, and application of these elements to daily plant operations is required. A working knowledge of engineering concepts and design documents, as well as experience and understanding in how to respond to environmental requirements are pluses.


Education Requirements

Minimum Requirements (Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications):
  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of eight (8) years power generating experience (operations, maintenance, or related utility experience) OR
  • Associate degree and a minimum of ten (10) years power generating experience

Preferred Disciplines: Engineering, Plant Operations & Maintenance

Other disciplines may be substituted for the preferred discipline(s) listed above

Expected Hiring Base Salary Range:

$131800 - $171200

The expected hiring base salary range is the range we anticipate hiring within for this position. The actual salary offered may vary based on factors such as the selected candidate's qualifications, skills, experience, and work location.
