Full Job Description

Who you'll work with

In our U.S. Individual Retirement (IR) business, you can work with one of the global leaders in insurance to provide financial solutions that allow consumers to grow and protect their retirement savings. We focus on helping Americans accumulate assets for retirement and turning those assets into an income stream that cannot be outlived. We offer innovative annuity products that allow clients to build assets through tax-deferred growth opportunities, while protecting their income against market volatility and providing guaranteed income for life.

About the role

The purpose of this position is to provide senior-level implementation leadership and hands-on support for high-visibility initiatives across the Product organization, including new distribution capabilities, emerging channels, new product development, product and feature changes, business process improvements, company separation activities, and innovative technologies. The Senior Implementation Manager helps translate product and business intent into clear implementation requirements, coordinates readiness across impacted functions, supports testing and launch activities, and helps resolve issues through stabilization. This role serves as a trusted implementation advisor to Product leadership and business partners, with a strong focus on quality, accuracy, adoption, and effective customer and distribution partner experience.

This is a senior, high-visibility role that supports the successful implementation of product, non-product, distribution partner, and enterprise initiatives across product functions. The Senior Implementation Manager partners with subject-matter experts across the organization to clarify business needs, assess implementation impacts, coordinate functional readiness, support testing and issue resolution, and help move initiatives successfully into production. The role provides leaders with concise implementation status, risks, decisions, readiness indicators, and recommendations.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Product leaders, business owners, and subject-matter experts to understand initiative objectives, product design, customer and distribution partner impacts, and implementation needs.
  • Coordinate implementation activities across Product, Operations, Marketing, Sales, Finance, Pricing, Distribution, Legal, Compliance, IT, third-party administrators, and external partners, as applicable.
  • Facilitate requirements discovery and alignment, document business and operational needs, identify gaps and dependencies, and help ensure solutions reflect approved design and business intent.
  • Develop and maintain implementation roadmaps, readiness checklists, decision logs, action items, launch criteria, and supporting documentation that provide clear accountability and visibility.
  • Support solution reviews and business validation by coordinating with impacted teams.
  • Assess operational, systems, forms, communications, training, digital experience, and distribution impacts and work with accountable teams to address readiness gaps before launch.
  • Serve as an implementation point of contact for business partners, providing timely responses, clarifying requirements, connecting subject-matter experts, and escalating unresolved issues with practical recommendations.
  • Coordinate launch, cutover, and post-launch stabilization support, including readiness reviews, implementation communications, production validation, issue triage, and lessons learned.
  • Monitor implementation health and communicate concise updates on readiness, risks, interdependencies, decisions, and support needs to leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to standardize implementation practices, enhance processes and procedures, strengthen templates and controls, improve workflows, reduce manual effort, and enhance the customer and partner experience.
  • Provide guidance to less-experienced team members and contribute implementation expertise across multiple concurrent initiatives; apply project management techniques as needed to keep work organized and moving forward.

Skills & Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive experience supporting product, technology, operations, distribution, or business implementations; financial services, insurance, or annuity experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success supporting complex cross-functional implementations from requirements and readiness through launch and stabilization.
  • Experience gathering and clarifying business requirements, evaluating operational and customer impacts, coordinating testing, monitoring readiness, and supporting production issue resolution.
  • Strong understanding of implementation lifecycles, change readiness, business controls, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement; familiarity with Agile, Kanban, or traditional delivery approaches is helpful.
  • Experience with collaboration, workflow, documentation, and reporting platforms such as Jira, Confluence, and Power BI; experience applying automation or AI-enabled tools is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, finance, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, including the ability to translate complex product, process, and systems information into clear implementation actions and decisions.
  • Strong relationship-building and influencing skills, with the ability to develop alignment, foster responsiveness, and resolve issues across organizational boundaries without direct authority.
  • Advanced analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving capabilities, including the ability to anticipate downstream impacts, identify gaps, and recommend practical solutions.
  • Proven ability to support multiple high-priority implementations in a fast-paced environment while maintaining disciplined follow-through, sound judgment, and close attention to detail.
  • Results-oriented and service-focused mindset with a record of improving implementation quality, timeliness, adoption, and stakeholder experience.
  • Ability to work independently, adapt quickly to changing business needs, and remain effective amid ambiguity and competing priorities.
