Full Job Description

The Senior Human Resources Specialist serves as a lead HR practitioner responsible for managing complex HR workflows, interpreting policies, and advising managers on employee relations, compliance, and performance management. This role exercises independent judgment, mentors junior HR staff, and identifies opportunities to improve HR processes and practices.

Essential Skills:

  • Reviews and refines HR communications to improve clarity, consistency, and alignment with HR practices.
  • Reviews complex HR transactions and improves workflow accuracy across employee record processes.
  • Applies advanced HR knowledge to review workflows, identify gaps, and guide process consistency.
  • Reviews handbook content and recommends revisions to improve compliance and policy clarity.
  • Builds trusted manager partnerships by interpreting HR program requirements and guiding case decisions.
  • Manages complex benefits cases and guides employees through enrollment decisions and documentation requirements.
  • Conducts employee investigations, documents findings, and manages case records to support compliant resolution.
  • Manages the performance review cycle and guides managers on documentation, timelines, and process compliance.
  • Interprets employment law changes and recommends updates to strengthen compliant HR operations.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • The Senior HR Specialist supervises HR Interns and HR Coordinators and is expected to lead department programs and mentor staff.

Education and Experience:

  • 5-7 years of human resources experience in a corporate setting.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field preferred.

  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification a plus.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

  • Regular work days and hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30AM - 4:30PM.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear; climb stairs and/or ladders, and walk on uneven ground.

Salary Range: $74,000 - $107,000

The salary range listed reflects a broad scope of potential earnings for this position. Actual compensation will be based on factors such as relevant experience, skills, education, and internal equity. Please note that it is not common for candidates to be hired at the top of the range. We encourage open communication about compensation expectations during the hiring process.
