The RoleThe HR Generalist serves as a key member of the People team, providing onsite HR support across HR operations, benefits administration, leave management, employee relations and the employee lifecycle processes. This role partners closely with employees and leaders to ensure a positive employee experience, maintain compliance with employment laws, and support organizational effectiveness. The HR Generalist will manage HR systems, including Rippling, to manage employee data, administer programs, and drive operational excellence.
Essential Responsibilities- Maintain employee records and HR data within Rippling, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance.
- Support onboarding, offboarding, promotions, transfers, and other employee lifecycle activities.
- Generate HR reports, maintain compliance documentation, and support audits and reporting requirements.
- Administer employee benefit programs, including enrollments, qualifying life events, open enrollment, and employee education.
- Manage leaves of absence, including FMLA, CFRA, ADA accommodations, disability, paid family leave, and workers' compensation, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and company policies.
- Coordinate with third-party administrators, benefits providers, payroll, and employees throughout the leave and benefits administration process.
- Assist with recruiting coordination, interview scheduling, and new hire orientation as needed.
- Partner with leadership to support employee engagement, training initiatives, organizational development, and workforce planning efforts.
- Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and employee experience.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
- Serve as onsite HR resource for employees and managers, providing guidance on company policies, procedures, and HR programs.
- Partner with managers to address employee relations matters, conduct workplace investigations, resolve employee concerns, and support performance management initiatives.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 3-5 years of progressive HR experience in a generalist capacity.
- Experience administering employee benefits and leaves of absence.
- Experience with HRIS platforms; Rippling experience strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of employee relations, employment law, and HR best practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and manage sensitive information.
Preferred Qualifications- PHR, SHRM-CP, or similar HR certification.
- Experience in a fast-paced environment.

CompensationOffers are based on a combination of experience, skills, and location. Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role is $100,000 - $140,000 annually for Hayward, CA and surrounding areas.
