Full Job Description

  • Provide professional design services for transportation projects for multiple agencies including PennDOT, and the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC).
  • Design roadway geometrics, roadway modeling and cross section development, traffic control, signing and pavement markings, utility coordination and right-of-way plan development.
  • Interact with client management teams, engineers in other technical disciplines, and marketing teams. Support proposal development.
  • Coordinate design development and assist with technical direction to other design staff.
  • Coordinate with the design team to achieve quality deliverables within the established schedule and budget.
  • Assist with the development of specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports.
  • Develop technical and price proposals.
  • Work with practice and office leadership, client development, business development and industry participation to advance your career and STV's growth.
  • Establish working relationships and interface with client technical staff and project managers.
  • Mentor supporting Civil design staff.


Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering. Master's degree is a plus
  • Professional Engineer (PE) is required. Pennsylvania preferred,
  • Minimum of 8-12 years of experience as a highway engineer


Qualifications
  • Experience with PennDOT and/or PTC as well as other transportation agencies
  • New Jersey, New York, and other Authority experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with AASHTO design standards
  • Proficiency in MicroStation, Bentley software (OpenRoads) and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Experience in design of highway projects.
  • Ability to determine scope of work and prepare estimates for highway engineering tasks
  • Quality control oversight for highway engineering tasks
  • Ability to mentor and coach junior engineers
  • Become an active member of our Client Service Teams supporting proposal development and business development activities


Compensation Range:
$124,726.29 - $142,544.33
