Full Job Description
RideCo is seeking a highly experienced Senior Hardware Manager to oversee a team that supports complex transit and mobility deployments across North America. This role requires an experienced professional who can act as the technical authority for on-site installations and remote deployments. You will drive vendor performance, manage complex client integrations, and lead a team of Hardware and Software Implementation Specialists.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Field Installation & Technical Operations Leadership:
  • Lead and oversee low voltage hardware installations in vehicles and facilities, including tablets, modems, GPS units, cameras, and related peripherals.
  • Manage field technicians and third-party installers to ensure installations meet company standards, safety requirements, and client specifications.
  • Establish troubleshooting frameworks for power, wiring, connectivity, mounting, and configuration issues on-site and remotely,
  • Ensure quality assurance processes are in place to validate installations against company and regulatory standards.

Hardware Administration & Program Ownership:
  • Lead the deployment and configuration strategy for hardware solutions integrated VoIP software capabilities.
  • Oversee hardware provisioning, staging, kitting, and asset tracking.
  • Administer and maintain Mobile Device Management (MDM), Telco, VOIP and other communications platforms.
  • Direct service ticket intake, triage workflows, escalation processes, and resolution standards.
  • Ensure accurate documentation standards for assets, configurations, and deployments are maintained.

Vendor, Sales & Stakeholder Leadership:
  • Manage and maintain vendor relationships, including coordination, issue resolution, and follow-ups.
  • Partner with Sales and Solutions teams by providing hardware quoting, configurations, and technical feasibility guidance.
  • Coordinate logistics, lead times, and deployment readiness with vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Negotiate and Manage warranty programs both internally and through 3rd party vendors.

Project & Team Leadership:
  • Lead multi-site and large-scale deployment initiatives from planning through execution.
  • Track project progress, identify risks, and communicate status updates proactively.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs, installation guides, training materials and operational documentation.
  • Mentor and coach technical staff; provide performance feedback and development guidance.
  • Other duties/projects as assigned

Travel & Onsite Engagement:
  • Travel to client sites to oversee installations, audits, troubleshooting, and go-live support.
  • Lead multi-day deployments and high-priority launches, ensuring operational readiness.

Required Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing technical installation teams or hardware deployment programs or vehicle maintenance teams.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle electrical systems, grounding, and cable management.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
  • Comfortable working in transit, fleet, or field environments.
  • Located in New York City or New Jersey.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with transit, fleet, or mobility technology deployments.
  • Experience managing MDM platforms and large fleets.
  • Familiarity with service ticketing systems and remote support workflows.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and vendors.
  • Current or past MECP (Mobile Electronic Certified Professional) Certificate is considered an asset.
