What this role is all about

As the Senior Sales Manager, you’ll drive revenue growth by building strong client relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and positioning the hotel as the preferred choice for business travel, corporate accounts, meetings, and group stays.

What you’ll be doing

  • Develop new accounts, maintain existing accounts, and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue goals and maximize profits for the hotel while maintaining guest satisfaction. Develop and maintain relationships with key clients to produce sales. Sell hotel rooms through direct client contact.

  • Participate in and maintain active sales solicitation program.

  • Attend client events to include breakfast and evening reception events as a representative of the management team of the hotel and to prospect for additional sales leads.

  • Achieve budgeted revenues and personal/team sales goals and maximize profitability within all areas of responsibility. Produce regular reports and sales forecasts.

  • Create and implement hotel-level tactical sales plans that drive measurable incremental occupancy, increase average rates, increase business volume. Deliver sales activities/performance to ensure actual sales exceed the established revenue plan.

  • Analyze current/potential market and sales trends and coordinate all activities to maintain and increase revenue and market share through added business volume and increased rate.

  • Participate in the daily business review meetings, funnel review, pre-convention meetings, training, and other sales-related meetings as required.

  • When sales tasks are performed in a team environment, the manager will act as a team leader and require minimal direct supervision.

  • Attend all hotel required meetings and training.

What great looks like 

    • A four-year college degree in hospitality management, marketing, business or related degree or equivalent experience. 

    • Three or more years of group hotel sales-related experience.  

    • Prior hotel experience in hospitality sales, conference planning or convention skills preferred. 

    • A strong understanding of the San Francisco market is also highly preferred. 

    • Ability to travel locally and overnight.  

    • Ability to communicate in English both verbally and in writing.  

    • Professional verbal and written communication skills. 

    • Mathematical skills, including basic math, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variances. 

    • Problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational and training abilities. 

    • Experience with Microsoft Office, Delphi.FDC, and Opera systems preferred. 


Anticipated Pay Range & Additional Job Information

Salary range for this role is $100K- $140K annually & is bonus eligible. Base pay offered may vary depending on various factors including but not limited to job related knowledge, skills and job specific experience/overall experience.
