We are looking for a
Senior Medical Grants Lead who is curious, collaborative, and purpose-driven to join our
Medical Grants and External Funding team, based either out of our offices in Raleigh, NC or Atlanta, GA. This is not a remote role.
About the role: As the
Senior Medical Grants Lead, you will serve as UCB's global subject matter expert for medical grants and external funding, leading grant review and approval processes while driving operational excellence, governance, and continuous improvement to ensure funding decisions align with medical strategy, scientific merit, patient benefit, and compliance requirements.
Who you will work with: You will join a global Medical Grants and External Funding team that values trust, curiosity, and shared purpose, working closely with medical, compliance, legal, finance to support clear, balanced, and responsible funding decisions.
What you will do: - Facilitate the review process of medical grant requests, ensuring decisions are based upon scientific / medical merit and safeguarding patient's welfare
- Identify and drive process and system related improvements leading to efficiencies and process excellence
- Partner with internal stakeholders and external healthcare organizations.
- Provide training that builds funding knowledge and confidence.
- Lead, coach, and mentor funding professionals to support high-performance, care, and shared accountability.

education, experience, and
skills - Degree in life sciences, pharmacy, healthcare, public health, business, or related field.
- Advanced degree in science, public health, business, pharmacy, or equivalent preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in grants, external funding, medical affairs, or related work.
- Experience in global, matrixed organizations with cross-functional collaboration.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations, funding governance, audits, and compliance expectations.
- Curious, collaborative approach with strong communication and process improvement skills.
Salary Range:- This position's reasonably anticipated base salary range is $148,000 to $194,300 per year. The actual salary offered will consider internal equity and may also vary depending on the candidate's region, job-related knowledge, skills and experience, among other factors.
