Role SummaryThe Rivian Supply Chain team is looking for highly motivated and exceptional Purchasing professionals to bring Rivian's engineered products to life. In this role, the Senior Global Supply Manager will be responsible for sourcing and managing parts that make up the building blocks of the R1T, R1S, and Electric Delivery Vehicles. As a Senior Global Supply Manager, Battery, you will be responsible for all commercial aspects of the awarding of new business, developing strong supplier relationships, and working side by side with our engineering counterparts to push the envelope of our technical requirements. You will also take the lead in making sure Rivian can meet its cost targets, suppliers deliver to our aggressive timelines, and parts are received at the highest level of quality. In our team, we expect our people to own every aspect of the sourcing process from start to finish and everything in between. This role reports to the Senior Manager, Global Supply Management.
Responsibilities- Lead the strategic sourcing process by ensuring that the product is matched to the right supplier, and they are effective in delivering the product in collaboration with Engineering
- Lead contractual negotiations with suppliers on Non-disclosure Agreements, General Terms & Conditions and Production Supply Agreements
- Identify potential suppliers, analyze capabilities, and develop a sourcing strategy and roadmap for Rivian stakeholders while considering market conditions as well as technology roadmaps
- Perform detailed assessments of supplier quote submissions with should-cost analysis and implement cost reductions on prototype and series production products and services
- Actively manage supplier relationships and performance through key performance metrics, plant audits and technical reviews
- Work closely with Program Management to track sourcing progress, execute product kick-off, and manage progress towards vehicle build events
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Manufacturing or a related operations field required. Masters degree preferred
- 5+ years of strategic sourcing, procurement, or purchasing experience.
- 5+ years' experience leading RFI/RFP/RFQ processes.
- 5+ years managing commercial business relationships with large suppliers in an Automotive or other transportation manufacturing related firms
- 4+ years experience negotiation and managing Battery suppliers
- Strong analytical ability to break down complex problems and data sets to derive meaningful, actionable results
- Comfortable working independently and in teams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Pay DisclosureThe salary range for this role is $107,800 - $134,800 for Irvine, CA based applicants. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, and organizational needs.
The successful candidate may be eligible for annual performance bonus and equity awards.
