Kleinfelder is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Program Manager with 12+ years of experience to join our dynamic team in the Southern California area. This is your chance to not only shape the future of infrastructure but also to shape the success of Kleinfelder itself. This role will focus on large transportation projects in Southern California.

We are seeking individuals who possess not just excellent technical, organizational, communication, computer, and writing skills, but also a desire to shape the future of transportation infrastructure. Team management and technical leadership experience will be essential, as this role will oversee a talented team of professionals that are leading the way in innovative design and analyses solutions for major freeways, interchanges, bridges, and parkways. In addition to championing technical excellence on projects, you'll be a driving force behind our business development initiatives, cultivating relationships with key stakeholders, clients, and industry teaming partners.

The selected candidate will work in our team-oriented environment, leading the geotechnical engineering team and working with directly with clients.

If selected, the candidate will work with technical teams and be expected to deliver a diverse range of geotechnical engineering services. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Preparing and presenting technical presentations to clients and technical review boards
  • Oversight of field investigations
  • Geotechnical design, slope stability, design of shallow, mat, and deep foundations, design of retaining walls, and large earthmoving projects.
  • Leading teams of geotechnical engineers and professionally develop staff at all levels
  • Planning, implementing, and managing geotechnical exploration programs including assigning laboratory testing
  • Being externally focused to grow client relationships and develop business through the work
  • Capturing business development opportunities and preparing proposals
  • Effectively uses Kleinfelder workflows and processes to secure project resources, complete proposals, develop contracts, maintain project records, monitor project, bill clients, collect receivables, and close out.
  • Will assist team members in resource sharing efforts, provide LPS stewardship, facilitate collaboration with markets


Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of experience and education required, Master's preferred.

Experience: 15+ years of related experience in consulting engineering firm or related service business

and knowledge of applicable laws and regulations required; or11 years related experience with a

Master's; or 9 years related experience with a PhD.

Certification/Registration: PE /GE or CEG Licensure in California.

Other Knowledge and Skills: Superior communication skills and in-depth knowledge of company

products and operations. High level of technical expertise and knowledge of current scientific

information in specialty area. Reputation as subject matter expert based on publications and presentations desired. Proficiency in software including Lpile, Apile, Shaft, GeoStudio Suite, Settle3D, Slope stability analyses or similar is necessary for this role

The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the California Pay Transparency Law. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience. Salary range: 125,000-208,000
