In this role, you will lead engineering and integrity-management activities for Enbridge Gas Transmission and Midstream's underground natural gas storage assets. You will monitor well bore and reservoir integrity, support safe and compliant operations, strengthen storage risk processes, and provide technical guidance for the maintenance and optimization of storage wells, reservoirs, and associated infrastructure.

Note: Internal job title is Sr Engineer

What You Will Do:
  • Monitor storage-field wellbore and reservoir integrity, interpret operating data, and identify potential capacity, performance, or integrity concerns.
  • Provide technical engineering support, analysis, planning, and recommendations for the safe operation, maintenance, and optimization of natural gas storage wells, reservoirs, wellheads, and related assets.
  • Maintain and validate storage risk models while advancing integrity risk-management processes, assessments, mitigation plans, procedures, and standard operating practices.
  • Prepare and maintain federal and state regulatory filings and reports, support regulatory audits, and represent Enbridge in interactions with agencies, industry professionals, contractors, and service providers.
  • Plan and coordinate required well testing, inspections, integrity assessments, repairs, upgrades, and reservoir well workovers, including budgets, schedules, execution plans, and records.
  • Develop and support operations and maintenance and capital projects, maintain engineering maps, studies, logs, and well files, and collaborate across Operations, Asset Integrity, Business Services, Commercial, and other business groups.


Who You Are:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, focused on Petroleum Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Six years minimum of experience in the gas storage or exploration and production or related industries.
  • Knowledge of gas storage operations, asset integrity, risk engineering, risk modelling, API well-design standards, API RP 1171, and related equipment operations and maintenance practices.
  • Understanding of the engineering, geology, and field operations associated with reservoir storage, including surface and subsurface equipment, well testing, transient pressure analysis, and geological conditions affecting storage fields.
  • Experience with applicable state oil and gas and storage regulations, safe well-site practices, and the management of technical consultants, work crews, contractors, and service companies.
  • A safety-focused, customer-oriented professional with strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, supported by proficiency in Geographical Information System (GIS), mapping, log-analysis, and other engineering software.

Working Conditions:
  • Office / field environment.
  • Occasional travel (~15%). Ability to travel Canada and United States. Valid passport is required.
  • The role may expose you to stressful situations where sound decisions must be made without supervision.
  • You will undergo various background screenings that include but is not limited to 5-year driving record, criminal check and a company sponsored medical.


Physical Requirements:

Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.

Salary:
  • Ranges from $100,000 - $140,000 USD for U.S. locations based upon candidate's experience, skills, and internal equity.
  • Applicable compensation policies and guidelines apply to internal candidates.
