What You Will Do:

  • Lead the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of a regional portfolio of wind generation facilities while promoting a strong safety-first culture.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development to Plant Managers and site leadership teams across geographically dispersed operations.
  • Drive operational excellence through effective maintenance execution, outage planning, contractor management, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Manage operating budgets, forecasting activities, resource allocation, and contractor/vendor performance to achieve business objectives.
  • Partner with Engineering, Asset Management, Safety, Environment, Supply Chain, and other stakeholders to optimize asset reliability and operational performance.
  • Support the successful integration of new wind assets by ensuring operational readiness, workforce capability, regulatory compliance, and effective transition to operations.
  • Champion continuous improvement, asset optimization, reliability programs, and major capital initiatives across the regional portfolio.


Who You Are:

  • Related university degree in Engineering, Business or related technical discipline and eight-plus years' experience OR ten-plus years of previous field operations experience, OR equivalent mix of formal education and experience.
  • 8+ years of progressive leadership experience within power generation, renewable energy, utilities, or industrial operations.
  • Demonstrated experience leading multi-site operations and maintenance activities for wind generation assets or comparable infrastructure.
  • Proven ability to lead through leaders, develop high-performing teams, and build accountability across geographically dispersed locations.
  • Strong knowledge of safety management, regulatory compliance, contractor oversight, and field operations.
  • Experience managing operating budgets, forecasting, vendor relationships, and business performance metrics.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, decision-making, and change leadership capabilities.


Preferred:

  • Professional Engineering designation (P.Eng., PE, or equivalent).
  • Electrical or mechanical engineering background, or equivalent technical expertise.
  • Experience working within multiple power markets or regulatory jurisdictions such as ERCOT, PJM, MISO, IESO, AESO, SPP, or NERC/CIP environments.
  • Experience supporting commissioning, operational readiness, repowering projects, major capital programs, or lifecycle asset management initiatives.
  • Knowledge of CMMS/work management systems, reliability programs, inventory management, SCADA systems, OEM service agreements, and joint venture operations.


Working Conditions:

  • Office-based leadership role with significant time spent at operating wind facilities, project sites, and field locations.
  • Frequent travel throughout Canada and the United States, typically ranging from 30% to 50%.
  • Requires visible field leadership through site visits, operational reviews, and safety observations.
  • Must be able to safely climb wind turbines, work at heights, and access operating facilities, subject to required training and certifications.
  • Safety-sensitive position requiring adherence to all company safety policies and procedures.


Salary:

  • Base salary ranges from $135,180 - $178,900 CAD for Ontario locations based upon candidate's experience, skills, and internal equity.
  • Applicable compensation policies and guidelines apply to internal candidates.
