The Opportunity

With Postman Insights, our vision is to help all developers more quickly find and fix production issues. Our vision is to provide productive dashboards within 15 minutes of a developer signing up for an account. With our first product, we aim to provide the fastest, easiest way to find and fix failing APIs.

As we prepare for GA, we are looking for a scrappy product-focused engineer to improve our product and experiment with AI. Across our product and the core Postman API platform, we have access to some incredible data for improving developers' debugging and development workflows. We are looking for a high-ownership fullstack engineer who is excited about building product features and motivated to experiment with AI.

What you'll do

• Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Engineering to improve the Postman Insights product.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Engineering to build new AI-powered features for the Postman Insights product.
• Work directly with users to improve the Postman Insights experience.
• Own fullstack development for feature improvements and new feature prototypes.
• Collaborate cross-functionality to improve the integration of Postman Insights as part of the integrated Postman product experience.
• Contribute to architectural and design decisions alongside the team.

About You

AI is the Wild West right now! There is so much happening and so much opportunity. We're looking for a self-starting, scrappy engineer who is excited about learning quickly to keep up with all of the new developments, in order to make it easier than ever for developers to debug and maintain their systems.

About you:

• Strong track record of delivery. Has launched multiple user-facing products/features.
• Strong fullstack implementation skills. We're looking for someone able to singlehandedly drive the initial development of substantial features.
• Scrappy prototyper. Able to spin up prototypes in a matter of days.
• Good grasp of AI technologies. Able to quickly learn and build on top of new technologies in the AI space.
• Good product sense. Is able to deeply understand the user and collaborate on solutions for addressing their needs.
• Excellent communication skills. We're a distributed engineering team and we're going to be moving fast together. Good communication is key.
• Good track record of mentorship

Must have:

• Experience building product features. Both frontend and backend development experience.
• Experience launching multiple user-facing products in collaboration with Product and Design.
• Experience driving large projects: 2+ past projects where you were responsible for hands-on delivering large parts of the work and 2+ past projects with multiple engineers.
• Experience making architecture-level decisions based on scaling or other constraints.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, startup environment.
• Based in the San Francisco Bay Area and able to come to the office 5x per week.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience working on developer tools.

At Postman we value in person collaboration. We are in office 5 days a week for all roles based out of our hubs in San Francisco Bay Area, Boston, Austin, New York City, Tokyo and London. For roles based in Bangalore, employees currently work in the office three days a week and will transition to five days per week by the end of the year. We were thoughtful in our approach which is based on collaboration and grounded in feedback from our workforce, leadership team, and peers. The benefits of our in office model will be shared knowledge, brainstorming sessions, communication, and building trust in-person that cannot be replicated via zoom.
