Reporting to the National Manager, Software Engineering, the person in this role will support the Enterprise Platforms organization's objective to deliver modern, reliable, and reusable technology capabilities that improve engineering efficiency and strengthen enterprise-scale platform delivery.

What you'll be doing

In this role, success means building high-quality platform solutions that are scalable, observable, and resilient in production. On a typical day, you'll collaborate with product owners, architects, and fellow engineers to solve complex technical challenges, improve platform capabilities, and create reusable solutions that help teams move faster.
  • Design, develop, test, and support distributed microservices and platform applications aligned with business goals and engineering requirements
  • Translate functional and technical requirements into scalable, supportable cloud-native solutions
  • Partner closely with product owners, architects, lead engineers, and peer developers to deliver reliable platform capabilities and shared services
  • Contribute to technical design discussions and implement solutions aligned with enterprise architecture standards
  • Build and maintain APIs, integration components, and event-driven services that support critical platform and application needs
  • Strengthening system quality through code reviews, testing, debugging, and hands-on production support for distributed systems

  • Create reusable components, engineering practices, and technical documentation that improve delivery consistency, engineering efficiency, and delivery speed across the teams
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and contribute ideas that drive continuous improvement across the engineering organization

What you bring
  • 5+ years of engineering experience with genuine depth on both front-end and back-end. You've owned features from first sketch to production, building cloud-native systems that scale gracefully as they grow
  • End-to-End Builder: You love shipping complete products - polished, responsive UIs backed by robust services - using technologies such as Java, Spring Boot, Kotlin, React, and Next.js (or the right tool for the job)
  • Experience working with microservices, distributed systems, real-time streaming architectures, and serverless patterns
  • Practical experience with AWS Services and related cloud technologies, along with a strong understanding of Modern12-factor application design
  • Proven ability to build and support observable systems with strong practices in logging, testing, security, instrumentation, troubleshooting, and production support
  • Experience with version control practices, including branching, merging, and code review processes

Added Bonus if you have
  • Experience developing solutions and understanding infrastructure for streaming and integration services such as Kafka, AWS Kinesis, AWS Event Bridge or API infrastructure such as AWS API Gateway, MuleSoft and Apigee
  • Certification and/or deep understanding of Kafka, Kinesis, or MuleSoft
