Job Summary
The Sr. Front End Engineer will build fast, accessible, and polished web experiences for modern digital products in the financial services domain. The role will focus on developing production-ready user interfaces using React, Next.js, and TypeScript, collaborating closely with designers through Figma, integrating cloud-native APIs and event-driven services, and supporting AI-powered features such as conversational chat and voice interfaces. The engineer will contribute to design systems, automated testing, performance optimization, accessibility, and Agile delivery while collaborating with backend, AI, product, and engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop high-quality, production-ready user interfaces using React, Next.js, and TypeScript.
• Work directly with designers in Figma to deliver pixel-accurate, responsive, and accessible interfaces.
• Integrate user interfaces with backend APIs and event-driven services while effectively handling application state, errors, and loading states.
• Build conversational user interfaces for AI-powered features, including chat and voice interfaces, streaming responses, and clear handoff to human support.
• Write and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end tests and contribute to automated testing frameworks.
• Optimize application load times and rendering performance.
• Develop interfaces that meet WCAG accessibility standards.
• Build and maintain reusable components, patterns, and shared design system capabilities across teams.
• Participate in code reviews, sprint ceremonies, and technical discussions with backend, AI, and product teams.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and maintainable digital products.

Required Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience in front-end software development.
• Expert-level experience with React, Next.js including App Router and SSR/SSG, and TypeScript.
• Strong experience with modern CSS, Tailwind CSS or CSS-in-JS, and responsive web design.
• Experience with React Query and Redux or similar state management technologies.
• Experience integrating REST and/or GraphQL APIs.
• Strong design-to-code experience using Figma and close collaboration with designers.
• Experience with Jest, React Testing Library, and Playwright or Cypress.
• Practical experience delivering WCAG 2.1 AA-compliant user interfaces.
• Experience with GitHub Actions or similar CI/CD pipelines.
• Daily, fluent use of AI-assisted coding tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor.
• Hands-on experience working in Agile delivery environments.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in financial services, particularly wealth management, retirement, brokerage, or digital banking.
• Experience building conversational chat or voice interfaces for LLM-powered features.
• Familiarity with deploying front-end applications on AWS, including CloudFront, Amplify, and S3.
• Experience working with serverless backend technologies.
• Experience building component libraries and design systems using tools such as Storybook.
• Awareness of front-end security practices in regulated environments, including authentication, session handling, and data protection.
