The Role
We're building the platform behind Canada's largest residential real estate ecosystem - and we're doing something pretty ambitious in a space that's ready for it. Finance is small, the ownership is real, and the numbers actually drive decisions. We need a senior FP&A person to own reporting, budgets, cost analytics, board materials, and cash flow end-to-end.
This role is for you if you've built a financial process where there wasn't any, not just run someone else's. You're sharp with a model, clear on a slide, and you use modern tools - including AI - to skip the grunt work. CPA in hand. Small team, real ownership, builder culture. Not a fit for everyone, but if you like owning the whole picture instead of one slice, you'd find it interesting.
What You'll Own
- Own the monthly reporting pack and make it good enough that people decide from it without second-guessing the numbers
- Build the budget bottom-up with the people who own the spend, then keep us honest with re-forecasts
- Dig into cost analytics and unit economics, find where the money's going and where the real tradeoffs are
- Prep board materials that explain themselves
- Keep a clear, current view of cash and runway, no surprises
What We're Looking For
- CPA with 5+ years of progressive experience, with hands-on budgeting and forecasting experience.
- Strong financial modeling and advanced Excel - you can build a model, not just maintain someone else's
- You've built reporting that senior people actually use - board decks, CFO-facing packs, management reporting - and made the numbers clear to a non-finance audience
- Strong asset: you use modern tools, including AI, concretely day-to-day, to skip the grunt work and move faster
Nice to have
- Time at a larger accounting firm
- Proptech, SaaS, marketplace, or real estate exposure - or early-stage experience building a finance function from a thin base
