Full Job Description
As Senior Financial Analyst you will work as part of the team and ideally be a proactive problem-solver with strong financial modeling abilities and the communication skills to translate complex data into clear insights. This position offers the opportunity to work with senior leadership and contribute directly to the company's financial performance and strategic direction.

This is a hybrid work model working from home and at the office in Etobicoke

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the monthly review of internal financial statements with the Finance team.
  • Oversee the full accounting cycle, including GL maintenance, inventory accounting, accruals, prepayments, and beer tax accounts.
  • Ensure all accounts are accurately reconciled to the GL and supported by appropriate documentation.
  • Prepare and process journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations; validate and analyze monthly reports to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
  • Review budget variances, identify root causes, and provide insight for management reporting.
  • Prepare monthly management reporting packages and presentations; contribute actively to financial review discussions.
  • Draft clear, concise written commentary to explain monthly performance results.
  • Manage the annual budget process, including preparation of all related schedules and deliverables.
  • Manage capital asset accounting, including maintaining the Fixed Asset Continuity Schedule, executing monthly depreciation, and preparing related management reporting.
  • Recommend process and workflow improvements and contribute to the development of analytical tools.
  • Support ad hoc projects and perform other duties as assigned.
The salary range for this position is $90,000 to $110,000 per year.

Education and Experience:
  • University degree in Commerce, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline
  • CPA designation, or working towards CPA
  • 3+ years of experience in a Financial Analyst, Corporate Finance, or similar accounting/finance role (experience in manufacturing or CPG is an asset).
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge with the ability to research and interpret complex accounting issues.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas (INDEX-MATCH/XLOOKUP, array formulas), pivot tables, conditional formatting, and data analysis functions (SUMIFS, FILTER, etc.).
  • Experience working with ERP systems; familiarity with SQL, Power BI, or similar BI/reporting tools.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Proven ability to analyze large data sets, translate insights into recommendations, and communicate findings clearly to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting process improvement initiatives and implementing enhanced reporting or analytical tools is an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
