What is the opportunity?

The Senior Finance Manager works with City National Bank's Technology, Operations, and Functions team to perform annual budgeting, monthly financial performance analysis, financial forecasting, and cost/profitability studies. You will effectively leverage enterprise relationships, processes, and systems to advance integration and alignment with head office Financial Performance Management practices across Shared Services.

What will you do?
  • Consolidate monthly financial reporting, forecasting, annual budgeting, and 5-year strategic plans across CNB Shared Services
  • Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis, performance reporting, cost optimization, transfer pricing, and specialty projects with TOF CFO and FP&A Leads
  • Serve as RBC Liaison for Shared Services requests, translating CNB reporting into U.S. and Global TOF reporting
  • Lead standardization of templates, deliverables, and reporting artifacts for monthly reporting, forecasting, and annual budgeting
  • Optimize workflows, processes, and documentation across Technology, Operations, and Functions FP&A
  • Lead annual FP&A policy and procedures updates with the Policy Governance Office
  • Execute change management and rollout of updated guidance


What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience
  • Minimum 3 years advanced Excel experience (pivot tables, SUMIFS, VLOOKUP, large data set analysis)
  • Strong analytics skills for synthesis of large data sets and insight purposes
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple projects at the same time, working under tight deadlines
  • Effective verbal/written communication skills to interact with all levels of stakeholders, including for presentations at senior leadership level
  • Ability to apply critical thinking to discern when to handle tasks independently
  • Ability to identify and execute process improvements that optimize the Finance operating model


Nice-to-have:
  • Experience with financial consolidation and forecasting platforms
  • Cross-functional stakeholder management in matrix environments
  • Process automation and documentation expertise
