Position Overview:
As the Senior Finance Manager & Analyst, you will bridge the gap between corporate finance and our international operational teams. You will lead a small finance team and act as financial partner to R&D, PLM, Sales, and Manufacturing Operations across Canada, Germany, and the USA. Beyond core FP&A duties, this role will spearhead the implementation of a cloud FP&A tool and lead the migration from QuickBooks Online to an enterprise ERP.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Partnering & FP&A: Build and manage global budgets and rolling forecasts across multi-national teams; deliver variance analysis and financial insight to department heads.
- Project Accounting: Design and execute project accounting for R&D/Operations initiatives, ensuring alignment with SR&ED and grant reporting requirements.
- Cost Accounting: Support Manufacturing on standard costing, inventory valuation, and product-line margin analysis.
- Systems Transformation: Lead selection/implementation of a cloud FP&A tool and scope the QBO-to-ERP migration (e.g., NetSuite, Sage Intacct).
- Financial Reporting & Audit: Manage month/quarter-end reporting, year-end close, external audits, government/SR&ED audits, and GAAP/IFRS-compliant internal controls.
- Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop a small finance team; present financial updates to senior leadership and the CFO.
Key Qualifications:
- 12+ years of progressive finance experience, with direct, hands-on ownership of financial analysis, reporting, and consolidation, along with previous experience leading or mentoring a finance team.
- Experience partnering cross-functionally with teams within the technology, manufacturing, and/or R&D sector, with semiconductor industry experience considered an asset.
- Demonstrated experience leading multi-entity, multi-currency consolidation and experience leading or supporting ERP implementations or system migrations.
- Advanced Excel/MS Office skills; working knowledge of BI tools (e.g., Power BI) and ERP systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Commerce; CPA designation is an asset.
- Strong business judgment, communication skills, and comfort operating across time zones and cultures in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
