Job Description:Department Overview:The TDS Payments & Technology Finance team delivers end-to-end financial management, decision support, and strategic advisory to TD Securities (TDS) and Payments Technology, driving disciplined expense management, transparent reporting, and high-quality insights that enable senior leadership to make informed investment decisions across the technology portfolio.
TDS Payments & Technology supports TD Securities' global capital markets business through innovative, scalable, and resilient technology solutions across trading, client experience, risk management, and regulatory compliance. The organization builds and operates critical platforms across Global Markets, Investment Banking, Transaction Banking, and Research, while enabling enterprise payment capabilities across all payment rails.
Job Description / AccountabilitiesThe Senior Financial Analyst will report to the Senior Finance Manager, Technology Finance, and will be a key partner to Wholesale Technology leadership.
This role requires a highly analytical, curious, and proactive individual who can work with large, complex data sets and translate financial results into clear, actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities- Act as a trusted Finance partner to Wholesale Technology stakeholders, providing financial insights and strategic guidance
- Lead expense management and forecasting activities, including annual planning and quarterly forecasts
- Analyze large and complex data sets to identify key drivers of financial performance, trends, and risks
- Deliver clear, concise, and executive-ready storytelling on financial results, variances, and outlook
- Build and enhance financial models, reporting tools, and dashboards to improve decision-making
- Support development of cost transparency frameworks, linking financials to technology drivers (e.g., applications, infrastructure, projects)
- Provide value-added analysis on vendor spend, labor mix, and investment initiatives
- Partner with business and technology leaders to evaluate strategic initiatives and investment cases
- Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting packages, including commentary for senior leadership
- Identify opportunities to optimize costs and improve financial processes, with well-supported recommendations
- Proactively flag risks, issues, and opportunities with actionable recommendations
Qualifications/ Competencies Accreditation- Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
- Professional designation (CPA, CFA) or in progress is an asset
- 5+ years of experience in financial analysis, management reporting, or planning roles
- Experience in Technology Finance or supporting complex, matrixed organizations is an asset
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong experience with Power BI (dashboarding, visualization), Power Query (data transformation and automation), Hyperion SmartView, Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC)
- Ability to work with and synthesize large, complex data sets into meaningful insights
- Strong financial modeling and analytical capabilities
