Senior Field Service Engineer (full-time, regular)
Dallas, TX
Description:
Train and provide guidance to lower-level Field Service Engineers. Conduct field support, including system and equipment maintenance and installations of specific Hitachi brand CD-SEM models CG5000, CG6300 and CG7300 used in semiconductor manufacturing to meet customer requirements for current and future technological processes. Perform on-site installation and provide on-site technical support for customers, including resolution and acceptance testing and technology calibration. Attend customer pass-down meetings as required, and ensure equipment uptime and availability commitments are met. Develop and maintain plan-of-action documents to report on escalation activities pertaining to the operation of Hitachi semiconductor manufacturing equipment. Work directly with third-party vendors to install, troubleshoot, and repair system and equipment accessories. Transfer technical and operational knowledge to junior Field Service Engineer positions through on-the-job training or classroom training. Maintain appropriate records of all work performed and training received in the CRM system. Set and keep appropriate schedules for service on assigned equipment.
10% of time traveling to Hillsboro, OR and Hsinchu, Taiwan for job training, and to Boise, ID to provide customer support.
Job location: 1375 North 28th Avenue, Dallas, TX 75261. Work to be performed primarily at customer site in Phoenix, AZ.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree (or the foreign equivalent) in Electronic, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• 2 years of experience in the job offered or related.
• Experience with:
o installing Hitachi's Critical Dimension Scanning Electron Microscope (CD-SEM) models CG5000, CG6300, CG7300;
o troubleshooting CD-SEM equipment and performing root cause analysis to resolve system and performance issues;
o applying Statistical Process Control (SPC) to maintain CD-SEM process tool performance;
o integrating electro-mechanical systems, high-vacuum modules, sensors, controls, lasers, and wafer-handling robotics across multiple CD-SEM tool subsystems; and
o modeling, design and tuning of PID (Proportional-Integral-Derivative) controllers.
