Overview

The Senior Fair Banking Compliance Analyst will work closely with the Director of Fair and Responsible Banking to manage the day-to-day responsibilities of the Fair and Responsible Banking Program (7he Program8). The Program includes oversight of complaint management, fair lending analysis, UDAAP analysis, and other fair banking reviews. The Senior Fair Banking Compliance Analyst will be trained on all aspects of the Program but may be tasked with managing a certain area under the Program.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain appropriate knowledge of fair and responsible banking laws and regulations, guidance and other legal and regulatory developments, and how they apply to the Bank and assigned business lines
  • Monitor and test loans for compliance with fair and responsible banking laws, including the Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA), Fair Housing Act (FHA), Unfair, Deceptive or Abusive Acts or Practices (UDAAP) and related regulatory guidance.
  • Monitor and review of laws, regulations, or guidance under the Fair Banking Program umbrella which include, but are not limited to:
    • Elder or Vulnerable Persons Financial Abuse
    • Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
    • Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA)
    • Fair Debt Collection Practices (FDCPA)
    • Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (SCRA)
    • Military Lending Act (MLA)
    • Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA)
    • Truth in Lending Act (TILA)
  • Stay current on the Bank6s business line products, services and processes, distribution channels, geographies, organizational structures and related regulatory requirements
  • Conduct thorough and detailed analyses, testing, validation and final reporting of Fair Banking risks
  • Assist with periodic risk assessments to assess the risk of Fair Banking harm to customers
  • Assist in the development of Fair Banking Compliance training program to educate team members
  • Collaborate with other areas of Compliance to support the Bank6s focus on fair and responsible banking in all facets of activity
  • Provide subject matter expertise on regulatory priorities and emerging issues
  • Participate in any special projects that may arise from time to time
  • Assist the Director of Fair and Responsible Banking in other functions and related duties as assigned
  • Directly oversee and manage the bank6s internal Complaint Management Tracking System
  • Act as primary contact for complaints received from customers, regulatory authorities, and Better Business Bureau
  • Investigate and resolve complaints received to determine the appropriate resolution
  • Work with the appropriate department applicable to each complaint
  • Provide a written response to each complaint, as directed in policy
  • Retrieve reports from the tracking system and evaluate patterns of complaints by product type, location, officer, etc.
  • Report to senior management on the volume and type of complaints received
  • Provide management with suggestions for improvement to processes and procedures based on complaints received
  • Provide training and support to all branch personnel on the internal Complaint Management Tracking System
  • Maintain policy and procedures relating to complaint management
  • Participate in any special projects that may arise from time to time
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications

  • Ability to use Excel and Word with a willingness to learn additional software needed to carry out duties such as Bank Operating Systems
  • Strong writing skills needed to effectively communicate
  • Ability to analyze information and make informed decisions
  • Ability to perform detailed work which requires concentration
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work with minimum supervision
  • In-depth knowledge of compliance loan and deposit documentation
  • Ability to deal effectively with personnel of other departments within the bank
