Senior Facilities Director - JLL

What this job involves: JLL is seeking a seasoned, strategic, and people-first Senior Facilities Director to lead our Integrated Facility Management (IFM) operations at a Life Sciences client Oceanside campus. As a key partner to a premier pharmaceutical client, you will oversee a complex, highly regulated GMP manufacturing facility. This role is not just about keeping the lights on; it is about championing a culture of excellence, developing a high-performing team, and delivering JLL's innovative solutions to drive operational performance and strengthen client relationships.

What your day-to-day will look like:
  • Trust & Partnership: Serve as the primary JLL point of contact for campus leadership, building a trusted relationship and ensuring alignment with client business objectives.
  • JLL Solutions Delivery: Proactively bring JLL's industry-leading tools, technology, and best practices to the client, driving continuous improvement and value creation.
  • Financial & Operational Performance: Drive overall IFM performance, managing KPIs, SLA compliance, and the campus operational and capital budgets.
  • GMP Cleaning Operations: Ensure strict adherence to pharmaceutical contamination control and cleaning protocols to support uninterrupted manufacturing.
  • Hard Services (Engineering & Building Management): Oversee the maintenance of critical utilities, HVAC, and overall physical plant operations.
  • Soft Services: Lead the delivery of vibrant workplace experiences, including event management, general janitorial services, mail services, landscaping, and Pest Control.
  • Project Management & Drawing Administration: Supervise site-level projects and ensure campus drawing administration (CAD/BIM) is accurate and compliant.
  • Talent Cultivation: Actively mentor, coach, and develop a diverse team of managers and individual contributors, fostering a career growth mindset.
  • Collaborative Culture: Build a cohesive, safety-first, and highly engaged team culture that reflects both JLL and client values.


Required Qualifications:
  • Proven Leadership: 10+ years of progressive facilities management experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership/director role overseeing multi-functional teams.
  • Industry Experience: Prior experience working within Life Sciences, Biotech, or Pharmaceutical environments is highly preferred.
  • GMP Familiarity: Strong understanding of GMP manufacturing standards, cleanroom protocols, and regulatory compliance.
  • Client Management: Exceptional relationship-building skills with a track record of managing high-stakes corporate client accounts.
  • Strategic & Financial Acumen: Experienced in budget management (OpEx/CapEx), contract negotiation, and driving operational efficiencies.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certifications: IFMA Certified Facility Manager (CFM) or Facility Management Professional (FMP) is a major plus.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Facility Management, or a related field.

Estimated compensation for this position:

150,000.00 - 180,000.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
