JLL - Senior Facilities Manager (M2)

Transform at JLL as a Senior Facilities Manager on a client account in our Technology Division! Our client is a global social media platform.

Location: Chicago, IL 60607 (NW / Fulton Market District)

Work Schedule: Onsite M-F 8AM-5 PM

Travel Requirements: 30-40%

Reports to: Account Director

Estimated compensation for this position is: $123,000 - $150,700

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Senior Facilities Manager to oversee the efficient operation of our client's facilities and site services. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a wide range of facilities and site-related functions, ensuring a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for both employees and visitors. The Facilities Manager will play a critical role in providing excellent customer service, implementing best practices, and optimizing the utilization of resources. This is a leadership position that requires strong management skills and a proactive approach to facility and site management.

The Senior Facilities Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, operations, and safety of multiple commercial properties, across all Regions in US, Canada, and support the LATAM Account Lead with oversight of the team of FMs in the varying client locations. The client organization has a bifurcated organizational structure with a division between Hard and Soft Services but is combining their oversight for both. This role is to oversee the entire operations for the Hard Services but to also partner and work closely with the Soft Services Team Lead.

Works closely with a team of FM's to drive, facilitate, enhance and implement organization-wide efforts to ensure that Hard Service delivery programs are developed and managed using a data-driven focus that sets priorities for improvements aligned to client's strategic imperatives. Specific areas of responsibility include Operation Management, Vendor / Supplier Management, Customer Satisfaction, Staff Productivity, and Efficiency.

This position will be responsible for ensuring precision, accuracy, consistency, quality, and verifying accuracy of operating and project budgets for all regions and sites. Strong OpEx budget development, analysis and reporting skills, and verifying accuracy of all financial tracking and reporting. Special focus will be given to performance management, Continuous Improvement, standardization of the portfolio. Emphasis should be a positive and timely response to concerns or needs of the client to ensure service needs and client expectations are exceeded. Very fast-paced client environment with an emphasis on collaborating and executing quickly with the client.

Provides Strategic Client Relationship Management
  • Participate in organizational strategic planning while guiding tactical actions and provides leadership for performance and continuous improvement of the Hard Services FM team.
  • Participate in global/regional portfolio strategy planning and foster client relationships.
  • Prepare impactful presentations with thoughtful summaries, fact-based recommendations, and articulate desired outcomes.
  • Ensure optimal functionality of buildings and facilities, focusing on enhancing client occupant experience and program efficiency.
  • Provide leadership for Hard Services FM team performance and continuous improvement.
  • Create and manage annual budgets for facility operations and capital improvements, identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Develop and deliver accurate senior management summary reports (weekly, monthly, and quarterly) on operations.
  • Meet, collaborate, and strategize with regional and senior client leaders.
  • Drive client initiatives with JLL's standards of service delivery down to the Account boots on the ground.


Builds and Manages High-Performing Teams

  • Lead and mentor a team of JLL facilities staff and third-party supplier partners/contractors, overseeing staff selection, counseling, appraisals, and personnel actions.
  • Coordinate with other departments to meet organizational needs and develop training programs for facilities personnel.
  • Function as a senior leader for the Hard Services Group, aligning with the Account leadership team, including the Account Engineering manager with whom a partnership is required to ensure compliance and adherence to various JLL standards and requirements.
  • Serve as an ambassador for JLL, embodying the firm's core values of Teamwork, Ethics, and Excellence.
  • Manage key areas of responsibility including Operations Management, Vendor/Supplier Management, Customer Relations/satisfaction, and Staff Productivity & Efficiency


Drives Operations & Compliance Performance
  • Provide tactical operational facilities to support and oversee performance of JLL 3rd-party supplier partners and client strategic alliance partners.
  • Manage regional workplace experiences and facilities services for JLL-managed properties, ensuring contract compliance and meeting performance specifications.
  • Ensure properties are operated and maintained in accordance with local, state, national, and client-specific requirements.
  • Oversee continuous improvement initiatives and support account and departmental strategic planning.
  • Manage cross-regional communications, particularly during service outages, and conduct root cause analysis to prevent recurring issues.
  • Maintain accurate and timely updates to facilities services, account systems, and reporting tools.
  • Support incident reporting and status updates to Account Leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Provide project facilities support and technical input for infrastructure and operation needs.
  • Oversee daily operations, including maintenance, repairs, and renovations, while managing vendor relationships and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Plan and execute facility improvement projects, manage space planning, and oversee client-initiated renovations.
  • Implement and monitor energy-efficient practices, sustainability initiatives, and environmental compliance.
  • Develop, coordinate, and manage third-party vendor for QBR auditing, analysis, and corrective action.


Delivers Financial Performance Results
  • Provide input and manage annual operations financial plans and manage expense/capital within approved plans/budgets while summarizing and sponsoring forecasted or unforeseen expenditures.
  • Ensure fixed, variable, and incentive compensation under the contract are achieved relative to the established Performance Plan and other objectives, annual KPI and incentive compensation determination and contract amendments.
  • Review regional performance metrics (KPIs) and compare account-wide metrics using analytics or other tools provided by the client and JLL to ensure that the portfolio is managed within goal parameters.
  • Create and implement savings initiatives across the region.
  • Technology Integration: Implement and manage facility management software systems. Utilize data analytics to inform decision-making and improve operations.
  • Manage annual operations of financial plans and budgets, including expense/capital management and sponsoring forecasted or unforeseen expenditures.

Skills/Qualifications:
