Full Job Description
As we expand our cutting-edge manufacturing capabilities, we are looking for a motivated Senior Fabrication Quality Manager who wants to build a meaningful career and join our dynamic team in Fremont.

Job Purpose

Develops, implements, and maintains technical quality assurance and control systems and activities. Manages the activities of the team and is responsible for staffing decisions, training and development, and performance management of the staff. Defines and specifies the implementation of standards, methods, and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision, accuracy, and reliability of company products. Participates in the reviewing of engineering designs to contribute quality requirements and considerations. Assists product support areas in gathering and analyzing data. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

Nature of Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Lead and mentor QA team that specializes in Metal Fabrication including turret, bending, welding, paint & assembly.
  • Be an outspoken advocate for Quality First throughout the plant
  • Expediently and effectively communicate with customers on quality escapes, visits,
    escalations, etc.
  • Maintain and improve the site QMS (including NCR and CAPA system, internal audit,
    training, etc.)
  • Maintain the site QMS compliance with ISO:9000 and any site/customer upcoming certifications required
  • Responsible for ensuring effective quality planning (including PFMEAs, process flows and control plans) for NPI and production parts.
  • Develop additional sources of quality data and track and report key Quality-related performance indicators (KPIs), including first pass yield, scrap, product return rates, etc.
  • Manage and improve supplier quality
  • Be an advocate for lean and six sigma manufacturing principles and drive continuous
    improvement.
  • Drive cross functional projects with manufacturing, supply chain, and engineering, to verify and validate existing manufacturing processes and capabilities
  • Overall owner of all applicable training requirements (ESD, 5'S, C-TPAT, Warehouse, Operations, Repair & FA)

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field
  • Minimum of 6+ years of experience in quality engineering or related area in a manufacturing environment in a leadership role.
  • Detailed knowledge and hands on experience with quality tools including process flowcharts, FMEA's, control plans, CAPA, RCCA and 8D required
  • Experience in IPC workmanship requirements is a plus
  • Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies including statistical analysis techniques (Design of Experiments, Statistical Process Control (SPC), etc) preferred.
  • Certified Green or Black belt a plus
  • Internal audit experience is required
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and Google docs product suite required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
  • ASQ certifications in QE, RE, QM is a plus

This is an ITAR facility and applicant must be a US Citizen or a lawful permanent resident.

Salary Range (annual): $130,000 - $190,000. Actual base pay within this range (determined at the offer stage) will be based on a candidate's years of relevant work experience, education, certifications, and skills, and is just one element of our total rewards package. The total rewards package also includes a variety of benefits, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business and, depending on the role, may include eligibility for restricted stock unit awards and participation in a discretionary bonus program.
