ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

The Senior Executive Assistant, Commercial is a highly trusted partner responsible for providing exceptional support to the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) and broader Commercial Leadership Team. This individual helps maximize leadership effectiveness through strong organization, judgment, discretion, and proactive coordination across the Commercial organization.

The successful candidate anticipates needs, manages competing priorities, facilitates communication and follow-through, and helps ensure leaders remain focused on the priorities that have the greatest impact on the business.

This individual is highly resourceful, technologically savvy, and comfortable leveraging technology, AI, and emerging tools to improve productivity and ways of working.
  • Provide high-level executive support to the Chief Commercial Officer and administrative and coordination support to members of the Commercial Leadership Team.
  • Strategically manage the CCO's complex and dynamic calendar, anticipating priorities, conflicts, preparation needs, and follow-up.
  • Coordinate calendars and scheduling across Commercial leadership to facilitate effective decision-making, collaboration, and execution.
  • Coordinate complex domestic and international travel, itineraries, logistics, and expenses for the CCO and Commercial leaders as needed.
  • Plan and coordinate Commercial Leadership Team meetings, offsites, conferences, team meetings, and key Commercial events.
  • Prepare meeting agendas, briefing materials, presentations, and other communications; ensure decisions, commitments, and action items are captured and tracked to completion.
  • Help establish and maintain effective operating rhythms across the Commercial Leadership Team, including recurring meetings, planning activities, and key milestones.
  • Identify and adopt technology, including appropriate AI-enabled tools and automation, to improve executive and Commercial team efficiency.
  • Proactively identify scheduling conflicts, competing priorities, and potential obstacles and take appropriate action to resolve them.
  • Support selected Commercial projects and initiatives, coordinating stakeholders, timelines, logistics, and deliverables as appropriate.
  • Coordinate contracts, purchase orders, expenses, and other administrative processes in partnership with internal functions.
  • Manage sensitive and confidential business and personnel information with exceptional discretion and sound judgment.
  • Build strong relationships across Commercial, other functions, and the administrative team to enable effective collaboration and execution.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 8+ years of executive administrative experience, including experience supporting senior executives; biotech/pharmaceutical industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to be onsite in the San Diego office 2-3 times per week
  • Exceptional organizational, project management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate needs, manage multiple priorities, and operate independently in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Excellent judgment, discretion, emotional intelligence, professionalism, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong technological fluency with demonstrated curiosity and aptitude for adopting AI and emerging productivity tools.
  • Resourceful, proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering with excellence.
  • Ability to work flexibly across time zones and changing priorities.

The base range for a Senior Executive EA is $124,000 - $155,000. Individual pay may vary based on additional factors, including, and without limitation, job-related skills, experience, work location, and relevant education or training. Kura's compensation package also includes generous benefits, equity, and participation in an annual target bonus.
