Your OpportunityAs a Senior Environmental Engineer, you will work with our Environmental Site Investigation and Remediation practice in our Ottawa, Ontario office. In this role you will provide technical expertise on a variety of projects including development and implementation of work programs and management of schedules, budgets and client deliverables. You will work with leadership to support the top line growth of business across a variety of sectors and work collaboratively with Stantec's environmental services team across Canada and North America on various pursuits and projects.
Your Key Responsibilities - Provide training, guidance and mentorship to junior, intermediate, and senior staff on environmental projects and project deliverables
- Lead environmental site assessment and remediation projects, from proposal development to project completion, including driving deliverables for multi-disciplinary projects
- Ensure quality and health and safety requirements and procedures are identified and followed throughout a project's life cycle
- Author and/or review technical reports and prepare client presentations summarizing project work, findings, and recommendations
- Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and internal project staff to develop new opportunities and execute technical work
- Demonstrate sound application of established practices, standards, and guidelines
- Apply technical and business knowledge and methods to develop creative, effective, and economical solutions to address current and potential project issues
- Advance development of AI applications in collaboration with Technical Discipline Leads
QualificationsYour Capabilities and Credentials - A strong aptitude for client management
- Excellent communication skills
- A strong affinity for teamwork, training, and mentoring junior staff
- Ability to work under little supervision and work well with others to achieve group success
- Ability to work on several projects or tasks during any given day consistently
- Skilled in communication and technical information exchange with clients, engineers and scientists, government regulators and agencies, and academia, as well as non-technical communication to the public
- Recognized for your high level of technical skill and practical ability to solve problems in various settings
- Application of a variety of methodologies to successfully remediate soil and groundwater
Education and ExperienceRelevant university degree with a minimum of 15 years of related site assessment experience
Master's degree is an asset
Professional designation (e.g., P.Eng. registration)
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
